Has anyone put their central heating on yet?

My windows stay open all year round, unless there is a Westerly gale blowing.

Here on the East coast the last 10 days have been 14 deg maximum or lower - low cloud and pissing it down so ours goes on and off periodically. For August the weather has been like October here.

Fair play. It wasn't really a serious consideration to put it on.

But when I was sticking the hot water on this morning, coming down to a fairly chilly kitchen this morning the thought of giving the heating a quick 30 minute blast did appeal.

A hearty brew soon snapped me out of it.
