Went last night and it was hard to believe some of those players are professional footballers. How Tom Davies missed an open goal was beyond belief. We missed a trick in not selling Gordon and Keane was just woeful, made Maguire look like Beckenbauer.
 
Always thought Keane was carried by Mee at Burnley and he never got the recognition.

Agree with Gordon being massively overhyped. Reminds me of the hype McNeil got when he was the only creative spark at Burnley.

If someone offers silly money like Chelsea again I’d cash in!
 
Fat Frank clearly doesn't give a fuck about cups if that team he put out last night was anything to go by. Why is Keane still here?

Shame we couldn't have flogged Gordon and kept Richy instead. I miss him.

That miss by Tom Davies was shocking, only 2 players came out of it with any credit - Patterson who at least went forward in play and Gray - for both his goal and being one of only 2 players who came over at the end. I think we'll regret not selling Gordon as his value will decrease as he's playing shite currently

Assume Everton end sold out too?

I just don’t get why Lampard isn’t taking it more seriously. One more game before the World Cup against them again so could have gone into that game on a high, now you are going into it on a low. Is finishing 17th or better all managers care about now?

He will be sacked soon. Probably after the weekend game if you lose.

Leicester were much better and deserved the win. I am a bit worried about us as attacking options seem very limited. We cannot rely on Dom as he is so injury prone. Scary times once more. Hey ho, onwards and hopefully upwards.

Unfortunately Frank was out of his depth at Chelsea and he’s still out of his depth with Everton, I think you need to get rid or this season could get very messy for you

It was sold out technically but few empty seats - the club had said they will reimburse re tickets. As this was few days before, maybe this influenced the side put out. Resting players who have 6 weeks off and no game after Saturday until boxing day is debatable to say the least. Truth is we have no strength in depth and he played a defence that had cost 4-5 manager's their job already. Am not deluded and know where we stand but last night was shocking.
I genuinely think we have no ambition other than to stay in the Premier league until BMD is open. Personally I would give him at least another season but as we know fans and boards are very fickle.

It can turn. We got knocked out of the FA Cup QF by Blackburn in 2007 without having a shot of note! I didn’t think I would ever see any improvement ever let alone with anything. Keep the faith. He will be gone soon. Hopefully better things await for you. My mate is a ST holder at Goodison and feels exactly the same.

I heard on the grapevine that he was a miserable bastard and there was a very bad atmosphere around the training ground, and some of the club staff aren't sorry he's gone. I suspect the squad aren't either.

Wasn’t he an Evertonian as a kid?
 
I look at Everton and they remind me a lot of ourselves in our dark years. A large loyal fanbase, a successful insufferable rival across town and in a bit of a mess due to bad decisions and signings. They threw money at it to try and improve quickly but it's backfired and they are in an even bigger mess. It's not what people want to hear in these days of instant success but they would have been better off employing Potter or Howe, giving them time and money and building slowly, getting a good base and style.
