I can only say he's the owner, so he can do whatever the fuck he wants with it.

It's a toxic platform, irrespective of who owns it.
Depends who perceives it toxic now, just because Musk is the owner.
We have seen similar with that crypto guy, losing £35bn in a week.

Why did he think it would be a good idea to tell all employees that Twitter will become a sweatshop work environment lol. Plenty of other employers out there who will snap them up with better working conditions the dickhead. Not long till the 3 ghosts of Christmas visit him.

In spite of the recent economic downturn, attracting top development talent is difficult. The bullshit, "you can't work from home but must instead work in the office," and cutting of intangible benefits is enough to drive most talented workers away - couple this with the massive layoffs and the ultimatum, "stay and work your ass off or leave with 3 months salary" - well it's a no brainer. Most will leave immediately - and the rest will be attempting to leave just as soon as another job opens up.

I’ve seen someone theorise that it worked at SpaceX because there’s nowhere else for rocket scientists to go.
The kind of senior, experienced Software developers he’s offered this ultimatum to can walk into any tech company in the world and get paid just as well if not better, in a forward thinking office environment.
The vast majority of people who have stayed at twitter are people on US work visas who can’t spend any time unemployed or they’ll get deported - they’ll have to line up other jobs before leaving.
