He confirmed, that they tried, but Pep chose extending with City this time. Great honour as I believe they have never reached out for foreign coach before and like it or not we are talking about greatest football nation.

I hope Pep will never be done with City, but its dreamland, so when the day inevitably comes, that would be great choice from my perspective (obviously if timing is good also for Brazil federation). We wouldnt have to fight him in CL for instance and taking everything into account a proof who is a Goat of coaching in a sport discipilne called football.

How old are peps kids? I see him waiting til they are making their own way in life before he moves on. Cant see him uprooting again to brazil or wherever if they are in the middle of uni or wharever at that time

Well I agree they may not deserve Enrique.. not sure they are toxic as a country..I remember my first vacations abroad when Franco was still in power..It was very strict,public behaviour, graffiti, topless bathing, were all monitored..Look we have Cornwall and Yorkshire, the Spanish have the Basques and the Catalans..Great people,just takes time.

It doesn't fit in with his style of coaching. He and his coaching team need to be involved with his players on a day to day basis. The players have to learn and fully understand their roles in his system(s), and for it to become 'second nature' to them.

The last thing he'd want is to have players turning up for a week pre-match with their heads full of lesser coaches' mumbo jumbo.

No chance he would go now just having agreed to an extension.
Also not sure he’d want to get involved with S American teams as it would massively destabilise his lifestyle.

I’ve watched Burnley a few times and they are playing lovely football, definite contender, big test is next season if Burnley get promoted, it will be tough for them.

Well I was not doing the monitoring!! I remember Germans were particularly fond of going topless at the time and being told to cover up..I think it was 1972, first holiday abroad, my old man saved up all year,the holiday was with Clarksons?? As a twelve year old going round the pool or the beach, seeing the totty was a real eye opener !!.. but they were certainly strict then.From memory you were not even allowed to kiss in public..Perhaps some older Spanish Blues can comment..

It's not really something I want to think about, but sadly one day Pep will call it a day at City.

Just wondering what the general consensus is on who should replace him? He's only agreed two more seasons, so looking at end of 2024/2025 season possibly. I know two years is a long time in football and someone we haven't even heard of could come out of the woodwork in the meantime as a top manager...

Somebody who Pep has worked with and moulded to his style, that would be a seamless transition, like Arteta?

An ex-City player, like Patrick Vieira?

A City legend, like Vincent Kompany?

Poach a good manager from a smaller club, like Thomas Frank?

Just any old 'big name' manager, like Conte/Tuchel/Nagelsmann?
