You need a ps5 with a disc drive to play physical disc ps4 games. It asks you to insert it even to download the ps5 version if applicable, and you have to keep the disc in the console to play that game.

For digital games you are fine, but be aware that not all games include a ps5 upgrade, so you'll be playing the ps4 version in some cases still even on the ps5.

I'd highly recommend the disc drive version. Otherwise you're tied to the playstation store to get your games. Depending on how many games you buy, you may save the equivalent in the cost difference between console models anyway just by having the ability to buy physical copies of games.

Tried to run the new updated Witcher 3 on my PC today but it was rather brutal on my RTX 2070 Super. Think Cyberpunk was easier to run overall. Xbox version seemed much better overall.

Bit of a reality check for me on my PC.

It looks and plays fantastic

2070S should piss it considering it runs on the Switch.

Maybe just being a little overzealous with some of the fancier settings?

I only just got round to finishing the first god of war. Exhausted at the end. Might need a new controller lol. Don’t know if it’s a good idea to go straight into the next 1.

Witcher might be worth a shout. Didn’t get the chance to play it first time around.

Anyone know if you have to buy the standard edition or an upgraded version?

Used to piss it, that was before a 50gb file and complete overhaul of the visuals. Visually, it’s looks incredible, but to a point where you have to compromise on performance. It might have something to do with DX12. High settings at 1440p will give me a stable 60fps. Anything above (Ultra or ray tracing) i get some drops. I think this is going to be one of those games where it’ll simply take a powerful GPU to run (RTX 4090). It’s eerily similar to Cyberpunk. I’m seeing YouTube videos of 4090s at 40fps with max settings/ray tracing and DLSS off.

A patch might be in order for it. From what I understand Switch hasn’t had an update yet but if the other consoles are anything to go by, it should be good.

It's an complete graphical overhaul. The switch and last gen consoles have only received the QOL updates as it's a 50GB update.

Even people with 4090's on ultra settings are struggling with it. I'm still sure CDPR are working on a patch to sort it out.

I'm playing it on a Series X and had zero issues. It looks and runs brilliantly.

Hard to believe this game is nearly 8 years old.

It puts most current AAA games to shame

Just downloading it now on Ps5. Slightly disappointing that the dlc is extra cost, but looking forward to seeing what it looks like.

Picked up Dying Light and DLC for 9 quid for the Series X. Heard great things but I'm an hour in and I've got to say, I'm finding it a bit shit. Hoping it picks up quick. Anybody played it?
 
PS plus essential is 25 quid until end of tomorrow (for the annual pass)
 
Decided to take advantage of my ps premium membership and blast through a few games, get my money's worth. No way I'll be renewing.

Guardians of the Galaxy, Alienation, Chorus, The Artful Escape all on my list to get through. Any suggestions from the catalogue welcome, excluding FPS.
