A thread to keep us up to date with new releases from bands we know, new and up and coming bands and artists… singles, albums, release dates, music videos, tours etc.

Two I’m looking forward to early in the year are the new albums by Gaz Coombes and Baby Cool.

He’s released a few singles from the album already, ‘Feel Loop (Lizard Dream)’ being a stand-out:




And Baby Cool is a new side project by lead singer of Nice Biscuit, Grace Cuell.

Baby Cool - Earthling on the Road to Self Love comes out on 10th February.

Cool as fuck!

Aussies must be the most prolific for decent new music, bands, artists, especially in psych rock and pop, and considering their population, in the world these days.

Not much on my new music radar at the moment. I think Rival Sons have a new album in March, but looking forward to seeing what else the music year has in store.

Gorlliaz, Young Fathers, Mac DeMarco, The Go! Team, A Certain Ratio and many more have albums out in the next few months, what a start to the year!

Interested to see what The Goa Express come out with this year n’all.
 
First 2023 album I've listened to is Margo Price's Strays.

Not an artist I've listened to before but I enjoyed it.

So the Goa Express are a real band, not one made up for Bank of Dave…

Will be interested to hear the new Murder Capital album

Good spot, Rob. Saw Margo Price live in 2016 when her debut "Midwest Farmer's Daughter" was a favourite; this long-awaited 4th album is very engaging on first listen.

Also enjoyed that Murder Capital LP.

Yeah, they released their new single on Friday:

Good voice live.

These lads are always knocking about round Town in the Rose&Monkey and Gullivers if they’re not playing a gig.
 
Mac DeMarco has released an album of laidback instrumentals recoded while he was driving around America in a van on his own.

Five Easy Hot Dogs.



They’ll never end up in a tracklist of my favourite songs or owt and this will never be a favourite album, but I find it interesting all the same. They’ll certainly be added to my Summertime playlist.
