Was at the Empire State Bastard gig last week, and the support band was quite interesting, for the regulars on this thread.

Benefits. They have a new album Nails out. Will explore more myself. Worth a spin. OOB6, sounded like your type of thing.

Nice one I shall endeavour to have a listen. Just seen the album review on Piccadilly Records and sounds promising

New album coming from Midlake founder Tim Smith, this is a taster. Promising

It's as good as I hoped, though a bit more "Courage of Others" good than "Van Occupanther" great for the most part.

"Hurstmonceux" and "Country Cathedral Drive" are classic tracks. Lazy journalists just give us history and tell us it sounds like the Cure's "Faith" because Tim mentioned it, but def. mid-80s Cocteaus feel if anything. In my Top 10 of 23.

The new Walt Disco album came out yesterday. The Warping.

Think of a mix of glam-ish rock, Billy Mackenzie and a tad of early 80's new romantic.

It's a weird mix. But then again I like a bit of weird. Great band live though.
