Nowhere near as bad as this. A better team than Southampton could’ve scored 4 today. Foden, Palmer, Gomez, Walker, Phillips and Alvarez all woeful today. The less said about Ortegas role in Southamptons second the better.

He’s been knocking about the first team for quite a while now. If he was going to emerge as good enough it would have happened by now.

Maybe that's true. Not every youth player gets to become a starter. It's not 2005 anymore. The team is a much higher calibre.

On the other hand, he is only 20 so I'm not calling time on him just yet, but if I had to choose right now, i don't see him being a long term option.
