United (A) | Post Match Thread

On commentary here in Oz , we had that DICKEAD Beglin saying "Öh it's shouldn't be a penalty, Casemiro was just a bit clumsy , that's all"
FUCK OFF you FUCKIN WANKER BEGLIN!

A FOUL IN THE 18 YARD BOX IS A PENALTY !

WANKER !!! WHAT A GOBSHITE !
Casemiro can apparently just go around doing whatever he wants.

Blatant penalty

Without being at our best, we dominated that lot at their place. Attwell afraid to give a decision against the home team. We were the better team - albeit ref apart - we let them off the hook.

Agree with everything here apart from Cancelo. Thought he was one of our better players tbh
What's with his refusal to pass (simple 10 yards passes I'm talking about) to a more talented team mate when we're in the final third ? He continually ignored passing to Foden it almost seemed on purpose and Foden never got into the game. A few early touches might have made a difference.

Sign a left back now. We can’t afford to wait any longer. Yes Cancelo was good today but our play will flow better. Get Haaland involved more in the link up play not just sitting in the box. I’m not saying he has to do as much as Jesus did but more than he is currently doing.

How short is your fucking memory?

We smashed Chelsea 4-0 like a week ago, we smashed 6 past United earlier in the season.

Arsenal would need to fuck up but 8 points is far from insurmountable.

Remember 2012??

My memory is short - I'm a fucking fan not a historian!

Chelsea are awful, and we smashed them coz they're awful. But I like you're optimism!

City played well, very bad referee though. I don't remember any VAR replays for controversial decisions in this game.

But if playing like today for the remained season I think City still have chance to win PM.
We played very far from well and especially what we are capable of. Unfortunately a common theme this season.

We definitely watched a different match after our goal.

We started to take control after it and United were struggling to do anything with the ball even when we gave it away.

We continually won it back and had them camped out in their half for most of minutes between when we score and their offside goal was given.

Once the match is posted in full, I would watch back that period to see what I mean. I think you’ll see the same.
I posted this seconds before they scored (on my stream) in the match thread:

Post in thread 'Match Thread | Man United vs Man City (14/01/23)'
https://forums.bluemoon-mcfc.co.uk/...ted-vs-man-city-14-01-23.358194/post-15614694

I felt it at the time, it was infuriating me, we just kept giving it away constantly.

Surely he is interfering with how Ederson positions himself??

Also Rashford is stood between Akanji and the ball the whole time. If Rashford isn't there City clear it.
Why didn't Walker or Akanji get to the ball first? If Akanji tries to clear it, then Rashford becomes active and is offside

As for Ederson, I agree, Ederson has to be ready to save Rashford's shot. But the rule doesn't say that makes Rashford active. The rule is daft, completely daft, but you can only play to it

united are miles off a good team ? only one team in the game that was Manchester city, until the worst bit of CHEATING ever we will still be 15 to 20 point than them even with the cheating

Agreed but we need to find a way in keeping the likes of Dias and Stones fit to keep up with them.

It wasn't the best performance, and a few players seriously need to take a long look at themselves, but for me, we lost that game because of an absolutely atrocious refereeing decision, nothing else.

That goal would never have stood if we'd scored it, and I don't think they'd have scored the second if it hadn't been given.

It's been a rough few games in the league now, but we're still second, still have the best striker, the best creator, and the most squad depth. We beat the rags, they beat us. Honours even and we just have to get more points from our other games and recover some form, which I'm confident that we will.

Every year we see the "top 4 is gonna be tough now!" posters come out to play and people acting like the season is done and dusted after one or two bad results. But this team has shown over and over again that they can bounce back and put a run together, and I'll be keeping the faith.
