Cant believe a professional footballer would run behind/alongside the ball, clearly from 3 or 4 yards off side.

If the correct decision had been made the rags fans would be calling Rashford all the names under the sun.

Might sound childish but this is why I cant support England. The thought of cheering Rashford makes me feel sick

BT Score show all saying should be offside. Even rag Robbie Savage. All the ex pros Savage/benali/Akinfenwa/sutton all mocking Walton.

Walton just said Rashford was 3 or 4 yards away from the ball…. YCMIU

Savage isn't a Rag. He supported Wrexham and Liverpool growing up and gave a City fan an ear bashing when he was called a Rag on air. He likes City and one of his children supports City.

I think he was a bit pissed off with city when they sacked his buddy Mancini but these days he is very fair about us and constantly slags sutton for being a City hater.

Oh yes yer can. VAR has been making it up ever since PiGMOL, the PL, and the FA realised that it was an instrument that, if yer kept most of it underwraps, fudged an explanation on weekly basis as to how a decision was made, make an apology when the decision is clearly wrong, amended the interpretation of the LotG to suit, then you have a ready made implement to deliver whatever result yer want.
Decision didnt go to VAR apparently

Our club is far too soft for that.

With all the shit we face, we are still the nicest club around in the face of it all.

Too nice!

then it will just keep happening ? you call the game as you see it, the TRUTH can not be punished and in this case its not even a debate, it's offside the officials have dropped a bolllock by even not going to VAR ?

FLAG up offside given, the referee over-rides the linesman in a flash ? if you're going to cheat, make 100% sure it does not look bad that the whole world can see the cheat ?

Arsenal will destroy us this season. Utd are shit & struggled to do anything
I see a lot of 'eggs in the CL basket' talk. Leipzig is wayy better than the teams we're currently dropping points to.

I think the referee asked the linesman if Rashford touched the ball. When he said no, he gave the goal.
The thing is that the Ref was in a better position than the linesman to see if he had touched the ball, at least if he had gone to the monitor he could get a clear view of what happened.

The game won't improve until the officials have to answer themselves for the decisions they make.

The defenders and keeper change their movement due to his actions - you are being deliberately misleading if you think that only physically stopping a player from touching the ball is all that matters. His movements were an obvious action (running with it, a feint and looked about to shoot) which impacted on Ederson and the defenders - Akanji is tracking Rashford rather than the path of the ball and Ederson stopped & set for a Rashford shot. Both would have been in a better position to either play the ball or make an attempt to play the ball if Rashford had stopped running or wasn't involved at all.
If Emerson came out of his box, cleared the ball out of play but wiped out Rashford what would the decision have been? Asking for my mate Stuart as he has no fucking clue

He’s even got his arms out to make his body bigger and more difficult to get around. It’s a disgrace. He’s shielding the ball, there is no question about it.

What were the lads supposed to do, poleaxe him?

This.

Our board are spinless and cowards. After all the FFP fiasco you would think the Club would learn something from that organized attack, no they're taking the passive approach again, always on the defensive.

Soriano ...It's not on Pep to point the obvious.

IM STILL FUMING!

All Soriano does is increase ticket prices and sign the next Far Eastern Crypto partner.

Rashford clearly knew he was offside which was why he knew not to touch the ball. He could have stopped running and put his hand up like you see many players do when caught offside.
He must then have known that any subsequent movement he made would be a distraction to the defender/ goalkeeper.
He made a decision to interfere with play.
