Pep’s Spurs (H) Post-Match Interview

He could be talking about many things. He spoke about the whole organisation. It could be ; ticket prices, timing of game, getting a singing section organised, sticking away fans in a corner not in a tier above home fans, stewards and police stopping away fans throwing coins, pints of piss and spitting at home fans, making more effort to get behind the team when the team is playing badly, the club buying a top class left back, etc. It sounds like he really cares though because if he didn't he'd say yeah great comeback , no problems, goodnight. Fair play to him he's giving City his moneys worth by saying how it is.

it was more likely frustration that after 40 minutes of being better than spurs we, once again gifted the opposition with our own fuck ups and gifting goals

if eddies balls up had beenin the 55th minute not the 42nd I doubt the ammount that booed would have.

error dead on half time and then another was probably the main factor.

I never booed by the way we played well first half, if very sideways.

Pep though is used to plaudits and adulation from the fans of teams he managed he seemed bemused at any criticism when it happened
No it was a mind game, he doesn't really give a fuck whether fans sng etc..BUT the penalty appeal...we didn't even shout for it.. Utd got the equalizer with Phantom offside goal BECAUSE Fernandez screamed at the lino n his face,...buoyed by the crowd frothing at the mouth...gets you points that. Pep feels he has to do the lot himself, motivate the team because we have a few mard arses and weak as shit supposed leaders (Gundy..we've lost the fight..ffs YOU JOB TO CHANGE THAT) Then fans not helping by not puttng ref under pressure, That is what f ked Pep off you could tell he was thinking..if this was OT and Tent Peg would have had the help of 50,0000 + screamers

Spurs fans were silent once it got back to 1-2. Almost as if there's a direct link between what happens on the pitch and what happens in the stands. And passively shuffling the ball from side to side while kicking it straight to opposition attackers at the other end isn't really the way to get people fired up.

They were dreadful in the first half man. Those fans had every right to boo.
Hindsight is 20/20 now, but things looked increadly bleak before that 2nd half turnaround.
I don't agree that we were dreadful in the first half at all. If we would have gone in at half time nill nill we would have been up for the second half.

It's too easy to say we were shit when we concede two sloppy goals but that absolutely wasn't the whole picture.

As a match going fan, sorry Pep but if there’s no atmosphere in the first 45 minutes that’s because of your boring style of football that we’ve had to endure for consecutive matches
I mean that must be one of the most astonishing posts I have ever seen hear;D what author of this must live like?;D

Bang on the money stevieatlasblue!

It's the new breed, the next gen, the social media society! Our fans have become increasingly spoilt. A player has a bad game, and the fans are all over social media ripping into them and comparing them to other players from other clubs. This is a Title Winning Team! A team who has given us countless euphoric moments, teams that have come back from the dead in 3 consecutive decades
I was there with my Mum and Dad in 99, tears rolling down my eyes when Robert Taylor put it past Nicky Weaver for 2-0.

Then you're listening to 2 delusional Dickheads from some shitty Twitter page slating us on a watchalong saying they "hate this team". Unbelievable, really.

Spurs fans haven’t had success for several decades either though.

Pep wasn’t happy with the players either. He isn’t asking for us to be applauding them, he’s asking for us to help fire them up. They’ve shown time and time again what they’re capable of when they are.

We don't do that often, and we are looking so fragle. Spuds usually good second half most weeks but Conte has lost the fight as well as our lads thank god...they got lucky but really odd they didn't fight for their unexpected lead. Terrible night for them and not particularly good for us Rodri and Mahrez aside. We NEED a keeper
Yeah not very regularly but it’s definitely a theme, Madrid away last season, Liverpool in the fa cup last season, rags last weekend and tonight.
We need to learn some game management in times like those. Fucks me off when teams are wasting time/going down with cramp every other minute then when we’re under the cosh we play right into their hands

Again Pep play better football and give us something to he excited about cause the play styles is definitely not
Mate we cheered louder losing 4:1 to Brighton ..open end ..pissing down with rain, Can assure you the football is miles better now!!!!!! That Malcolm Allison second stint side...soooo shit yet there was still more signng then now when we are an excellent side albeit with flaws

it's like scratching a scab, it will bleed and sting even more than the injury that the scab was formed from.
the players are what he picks from what he sees in training, so if they are not giving 100% then why pick them ?
as for the fans booing at half-time, they were the same fans clapping them off so again pep it goes both ways.

My club Manchester city are bigger than any players or manager, the fans have the right to boo a bad half, just like pep storming off down the tunnel not happy ? but the end of the game, go and take a look at pep reactions, did that look like an unhappy manager after the win,

everybody can see our major problem, and it's at left back / left wing back ? most of the trouble and mistake come from our left side of defence, AKE is not a left back or left wing back, PEP is dancing with the devil down the left and has pep ever really sort out the left back to balance the team

for me, it's a great bit of minds games by pep ? it's covering his back against the players' loss of form.
like I said, the manager sees everything in training and picks the team, just like when winning every week.

YES, pep can wrong ? maybe needs the club to say OK pep here are the options, a rebuild in the summer and 4 or 5 senior players can be moved on or used as squad players, but the money is there and let's get the left back sorted once and for all, Or we look at what happens with what's left of the season and Champions League and talk in the summer about what's best going forward,

BUT this stinks of a pep's major mind game over arsenal ? he's want to put out we are in a mess and players have turned off, get the message out there we are done and don't fancy the fight ?

that 2nd half is not a team full of players that are happy to rollover, far from it ? we are just out of form and looking for a spark and tonight it shown in the 2nd half, pep and the 4th goal or pep at the final whistle says it all

Winning 4 leagues out 5 ? What else do you want? We could be Brazil with Pele or Barca with Messi or Arsenal with Henry, the fans would remain the same. City fans aren’t the most vocal, we are vociferous but as a unit at home we aren’t good enough

First half was poor, slow square passing, no running and then conceding two goals out of nothing. Not sure it was worth a boo, but it was shit, the best chance coming from Rico who was the only one who did his job properly in that half and got kicked off the park for it.

The second half was much, much better, just in terms of agression with and without the ball and the result came from it. Pep said as much in saying he doesn't care if he wins the league, he just wants to see his team.

So do the fans need to raise the team or do the team need to raise the fans? As always, it's a bit of both and one thing I think we're missing that would do it, especially off the back of a derby loss, is a de Jong/ Kompany/ Zabaleta tackle early on. Pep made a comment about Lewis getting fouled and nothing given and that was ok and I couldn't tell whether it was his English or whether he was having a bit of a go at his own players for not sticking up for him.

Either way, another home game on Sunday is perfect timing and hopefully that half time, from the boos to whatever was said in the dressing room is the thing that kick starts our season.

Am comparing the way Pep usually plays to the way we are now. Still shouldn't have a go at the fans for his tactics and style going wrong as they were 2-0 down against a poor Sprus side. Sorry
