I don't see how, legally, foreign institutions are not allowed to invest in football clubs, when the same institutions can buy, Iconic Hotels, Buildings, Stores, invest in Horse racing, buy military jets and other integration into our society.

Lets call it what it is - complete bollocks.

Do you think they will be mass protests if Qatar buys Liverpool or people are just going to forget about it the moment they sign players ?
All I see on social media is Liverpool fans saying ''we want the money by any means''. They don't care now where it comes from, they just want to be able to compete and are fed up of ''not being able to spend'' (their words not mine).
Once taken over, all this socialist and ''doing it the right way'' nonsense as well as words such as ''dirty oil money'' and ''sportswashing'' will never be uttered by their lips again.

The latter. I think a few diehards will protest. The telly clappers won’t care though and I doubt many fans will ragequit.

On route to work this morning, wound down my window to ask a driver (politely) why they were holding up traffic by doing 20mph on an A Road. Response was a tirade of foul-mouthed abuse and threats. No prizes for guessing the strong accent this guy had.

Honestly, you get almost daily reminders on why scouseland needs to have a wall round it

You really think they wouldn’t jib out?

IMO be easier and more effective to put a Kestrel Extra fountain in their city centre - with that in place none of them would be heading out of town.

They need to get real and reading this might help.

Dippers will always find something they feel victimised by. They can't help themselves.

SOS " We want owners that share the culture of our club/city "

Sorry but is this a code for saying we want only western owners ? Or am I reading it wrong ?

Their city was built on the profits of slavery so I’m guessing they want owners with similar backgrounds.

You read it right!
As if American owners respect the culture of football! I hope they get bought buy some yank asset strippers and taken to pieces

If you want criticize Qatar and oil states at least be consistent and criticize other places as well. You can't just turn a blind eye on AXA/Standard Charted/Nike who all sponsor our club and use slave labour and then shut all the conversation by using " whataboutery " excuse and No there isn't a conspiracy about any coordination from Qatari bots to paint Liverpool fans as racist. People just had enough with the hypocrisy and double standards.

AND FUCK OFF with this Liverpool is a progressive socialist city, a quick Google shows that Liverpool isn't even among the top 10 most liberal/progressive cities in the UK:

  1. Bath
  2. Bristol
  3. Leicester
  4. Cambridge
  5. Exeter
  6. Oxford
  7. Newcastle upon Tyne
  8. Norwich
  9. Leeds
  10. Brighton & Hove

I don't think it is. I think its all part of the way that football at the top level has gone. Its all about branding, about investment, corporatre image and that wonderful word..."Optics"
All about "mission statements" and increasing market share alongside "stakeholders".
part of me wonders if its an age thing. Looking back into the past with those rose tinted specs on, whereas the "younger generation" simply accept all the bullshit that comes out of the media departments.
I think oldies like me ( mid 50s) simply have to accept that the governance of football has changed.
The whole idea of wanting "owners that share the culture of our city/club" is complete bollocks anyway by the very fact they want and aim for a global brand...so as has been said on here many a time....are they lookign at the culture of Stavanger, Dublin, Lagos...or where?
