As far as I can see, and I suppose it is the bleeding obvious,
they are doing absolutely nothing beneficial for this country.
Every day is another tale of sleaze, lies, corruption and nepotism.
Governing now takes the form of constant rearguard action against their own incompetence and lies and I am sick of it.
Feel better now - but not much.

I am going to vote Labour and do think Labour will win the next election but cannot see anything but trouble for them. If you think of the UK economy as one giant multi billion pound business in trouble then you will probably need experienced operators to get us out of the shit. Do Labour have that experience. Chucking money at the NHS, education, transport, energy, housing, benefits etc may look good on paper but will not add up on a spreadsheet. I think Labour and Starmer will have one hell of a job to do and Sky high expectations to meet. I do not envy them at all.

I think you are absolutely correct. I can't see anyone sorting this sh1t show out without a lot of pain. I just hope they spread the pain to everyone. The rich can afford it.

If I could be arsed to look it up I'd probably find Bridgens recent disastrous count appearance probably resulted in £100k legal fees - just a wild guess but I bet I am not a million miles off lol

Its about hours in the day - you are an MP or a minister - you have a second job to attend to as it brings in some real money - you need to write another chapter for your memoirs or up coming book - you have to attend the house to get a cheap meal and circulate the bars, aside from PMQ's and the odd vote you are not needed in the chamber ( we have visual evidence of that ) then you have interviews to give defending policy/colleagues or go on Peston or QT then back to the bar to molest and unpaid intern. Where the fuck in all that is there space to do any actual governing of the country !!!?????

I'm not brilliant on tax situations but, inheritance and savings. This is off the wall by the way and probably not original. One thing I often ponder is how can we pay more than minimum wage to say cafe waiters and waitresses. If you put up the price of cups of coffee and tea then people will not go in. But, what if you ban inheritance and penalise savings then maybe, just maybe people will spend more, the economy will grow and the price of a cup of coffee can be put up!!!
 
read your history of the tory party from ad 1600, name one thing that was intended to benefit anyone but themselves. Look at fptp, and how it defies democracy, look at the corrupt media, look at the constant attacks on the NHS, in fact every social service, and then explain why anyone is surprised at the state of the uk

They sold this project as getting people to London half an hour faster. If you are having to get the Tube from West London into the centre of the city because the train doesn’t go to Euston, surely that cancels out the whole advantage of the speed the train will supposedly have?

I think they see "London" as being any point within the M25 selected to suit their argument.
Could be Euston, could be Paddington, could be the House of Commons, could even be Wembley or selhurst bloody Park. Just depends on how they want to con the peasants.

HS2 will be reserved for the business types who regularly travel to London and who won't be paying for their fares so they're not arsed. Surprise surprise that actually sort of fits the profile of any MP based up here!

What they should be doing is trying to make rail more affordable, HS2 definitely won't be cheap and most people will do the current slower option if it's cheaper so it's completely pointless.

Even more people will just drive or fly to take the hassle out of the trains at the moment. I've flown many times from Manchester to Heathrow as flying can be cheaper than the train which is just ridiculous.

I've just looked and it's £35 for 3 of us to get the train to the game tonight (3 people, Buckshaw Parkway to Manchester on off-peak returns). That's almost £1 per mile! I'll stick to driving as that'll cost me £8, is it any wonder the motorways and roads are rammed?
