Budget Hotels

There's a few small hotels in the vicinity of Heaton Park. Two I know of are the Hazeldean, on Bury New Road and Westlynne Lodge on Middleton Road. Both in reasonable walking distance. They might be worth a try as they're off the usual Booking.com/Hotels.com radar usually. There's a few other small B&B's/hotels but can't think of the names of these off the top of my head.
Wow is the Hazel Dean still going! Used to drive up and down BNR a lot on the mid 80's and always wondered how she managed to run a hotel and have a successful pop career at the same time.
The hotel looked like a dump back then so lord knows what it looks like now

Had a renovation a while back. I never actually knew it was a functioning business until I saw the skips.

Booked tickets for Parklife festival in the summer without checking the logistics of somewhere to stay first.

Can anyone recommend budget hotels as just somewhere to get a few hours kip that’s not In a hedge?

Everywhere so far has been north of £200 per night

Trying to book a hotel for myself and two kids (one 18 and one 12) in York next weekend.
How much are people paying for something budget atm?

Some of the prices are daft (and only get less so when you're looking at B&B's 20 miles out).

The cheapest I've found is a Premier Inn 1.5 miles out for £141 - does that seem about right (or have I left the booking too late)?

Is this Saturday and a family room you're looking for?

Woodthorpe right on the doorstep of the park and Church Inn off Prestwich village both have a few rooms but not sure of availability or if festival friendly. Fairways lodge is approx 20mins walk or could look at centre of Bury which has a few options inc a Premier Inn and some independent places and has good tram connections to Heaton Park.

Hotel Football is available for £349.

Seriously though, those prices. £1600 for a small cottage nearby? Wow.

You're probably looking at somewhere a bit further out. The Strawbury Duck at Entwistle is showing on Booking.com as £160. You can get a train from the station next door into Bolton or Victoria every hour but getting back would be tight as last train is 11:07 from Vic or 23:28 from Bolton (taxi from Heaton Park about 30 mins). Loads of beer choices at the pub if that's your thing.
Great boozer. Taken the train a few times on Sunday afternoons

Sorry I can't help as its been awhile since I went to York. A few of us went over for a match, I doubt you have heard about it, it was when we were shit, lost 2-1.

£141 for all of you?

If so, that's good.

Exactly that.
Was originally looking at Fri & Sat but even for budget they’re all starting at £150 fir the one night (even travelodge).
I looked on Hotel.com and saw a family room for £93 about four miles from York city centre
if you’re prepared to go a bit further, Days in at Wetherby was about £65

Yeah, that's a possibility.
Where that to be in London then 4 miles isn't anything to think about, but might need to add taxi costs into that.
I'll have a good look tomorrow and get something booked.

Cheers.
