Question Time

I mean if only we had a national Govt that could have had nearly 13 years to fix this......

They don't get it, do they?

Everything this government has done over nearly 13 years in power is destruct all the institutions and public bodies we need for a fair and helping society.

I'm fed up with them telling us 'we are going to increase spending in this or that area', because those bastards have run just about everything into the ground over their tenure, and it pisses me off no end when they claim they are going to put things right when it's their inhumane policies that have ballsed everything up in the first place.

I was even more pissed off when he went on to claim, and I forget the question, that in these times of labour shortages, employers have to offer decent conditions and pay rates so they attract and keep their staff.

Yeah, OK, so why are you treating NHS employees like shit and refusing to agree pay rates they are rightly asking for in a sector we need that is desperately short of staff, and refusing to negotiate with the rail unions then?

That fucking lightweight hypocrite, defending his mate knowingly defrauding HMRC out of millions, then coming up with that crap, sums them up. It's bullshit, from top to bottom.

The sooner we rid ourselves of these twats, the better.

Thing about that is that if you are 1m bodies short of what you need to do all the work than how does that even work? You offer those you have and those you can poach from competitors all the money you can afford but in the overall economy you are still 1m vacancies shy of being able to grow your economy - its absolute madness

It's like the bullet points the Chancellor presented in his plan to grow the economy. We are going to be the new 'silicon valley'' he trumpeted, and growth will arrive and lead us all to riches beyond our wildest expections.

It's bullshit, and it will never happen. We have put so many barriers up to trading with the most prosperous economic bloc on Earth, our nearest neighbours, the EU, why would anyone with an ounce of sense invest in the UK with all the red tape and added costs being a third country brings?

It's always jam tomorrow with that lot, and their record for every metric that can be measured is abysmal.

If they want to grow the economy, they could start by being honest, admit brexit, which they supported, was a mistake, and the only way forward is for us to become members of the customs union and single market.

Until that happens, and Labour aren't being honest about it either, we are slowly going to sink and it doesn't mean diddly squat what rubbish comes out of the mouth of our Chancellor.

That threshold has to addressed at some point.

Because Ella Whelan wouldn't shut up and ranted, trashing any exchange and bellowing over any nuance being raised.

Never heard of her before, but another Hately-Brewer clone off to the right of the Conservatives, it appears, who works on "she who shouts loudest shouts longest".

Whelan is the new Think Tank lobbyist favoured by the BBC. When people complain that the same Think Tank lobbyist keeps showing up on their screens they simply go back to their favoured Think Tank and ask 2 have you got another one we can use ta? "

cheers - I'd seen Spiked when I looked, and that told me enough.
Couldn't have defined things specifically, except all the usual "libertarian" nutjobbery (speechmarks important there!).

I thought the left were anti bbc?

I’m not anti BBC because my theory is that there’s good and bad everywhere and I like to look at things from different angles.
Sometimes the Beeb get it correct sometimes incorrect. But I don’t base my views on just one opinion. I’m an adult (so they tell me, but I do listen to the others who tell me I’m not. Then make up my own mind!) ;-) :-) I have a brain. It’s there to be used. I use it. You know the saying; use it or lose it.
Just my two pennorth. Sorry to butt in.

Spiked is an horrendous magazine if you can call it that. Brendan O'Neill the faux intellectual writes some of the most half witted rubbish one will ever read.

I continually ask them on twatter who funds their libertarian fuckwittery knowing they will not or dare not reveal who funds them. Tom Slater the editor of the site is becoming more well known and is often appearing on newspaper reviews etc, he is fucking nuts.

Amazingly many of their contributors used to be supporters of the Revolutionary Communist Party and saw themselves as left wing libertarians. Now they are more closely aligned to the Faragist views and supported the Brexit Party.

My father many years ago warned me in simple terms to beware of extremists, at the time he meant communist or fascist as examples of left and right extremes.
Seems today that they have politically united to destroy what we loosely call a fair democratic system.

I know what he means as I have seen my apathy to political parties (I am not alone) witness unbelievable things at top level in the UK.

The Communist Party of Great Britain has less than 2k members, the BNP has a membership of approx 500

Combined they would struggle to win a council seat never mind uniting politically to destroy democracy

Thanks for reply.
Apologies if I was unclear. My father said that to me about 60 years ago so his examples of extreme parties are in the UK perhaps not relevant.
Perhaps today we have the rich getting richer with Liz Truss trying to push that agenda and Mr Johnson and Mr Trump seemingly OK with Mr Putin's agenda.

I'm sure you can find examples better than I can.

What we do have and this is an oxymoron, the centrists are the extremists. We know what the far left and far right stand for, those who proclaim to stand on the centre ground will stop at nothing to get into power, they stand for nothing apart from the continuation of the status quo and the continuation of the ruinous Neo Liberal economics that has produced so much inequality in our nation. The far right and far left have answers to this issue, whether you agree with them or not.

Too bad the far right are determined to turn the majority of people into corporate serfs.
