Pep Guardiola on discussions to buy a left-back before the end of the January transfer window: "Txiki said no. I said wait..."

: Phil Foden is available for #ManCity, as per Pep Guardiola

Can Phil Foden play left-back? Pep Guardiola: "No."

John Stones is OUT around a month, Pep Guardiola has confirmed.

Pep Guardiola says he hasn't forgot about the Premier League teams that wrote a letter to UEFA trying to get #ManCity banned from the Champions League.

Pep Guardiola on what the reaction would be if #ManCity had spent £500m like Chelsea have in the past two transfer windows: "I know."

Pep Guardiola says Joao Cancelo "wants to play every single game" and hopefully he can at Bayern Munich.
I must admit I'm getting a bit pissed off with Stonesy. It's like rinse, and repeat with him

I'm sure he's pissed off aswell

With Conte recovering in hospital, Spurs will be the weaker for it.
They'll be weaker without Conte's direction on the touchline and they'll miss the pressure he can put on referees.

Question is will we take advantage of that? Or will we play the 442 system, sideways passing, slow build-up, Ederson and defenders having most of the ball, Spurs, Madley and Tierney would love that.

Id go with a midfield three of Gundo-Rodri-Bernardo and have Mahrez and Grealish closer to Haaland. But Pep will probably stick with Kdb upfront and a midfield pairing of Rodri and Gundo/Bernardo.

Have you ever had a go at this football management lark?

My Mum was the same.

I think Conte had his removed as an emergency because of an infection though, not regularly scheduled for gallstones, so he might have been in worse shape and take longer to recover.
If it was an emergency due to infection then it wouldn't be keyhole surgery. They would have performed a traditional surgery opening up the stomach area and would require at least 3 days stay in hospital.

Listening to what his assistant or whoever he was in their press conference I get the impression it's more than likely that Conte will be on the bench

Do you think the dressing room unrest stops at Cancelo then, I think there's a bit more to it than just him
While there are issues with other players, going by what has been written in the media and on the forum here, Cancelo by far seemed the worst. With him gone i think it will help the rest of the players come together, and do their best until the end of the season. It was also a decision that only further strengthened Peps position internally. So yes, i expect things to get better now behind the scenes.

first thing first is to score at spur's new ground ? then do it again and again, because one goal is not enough this season with our defence setup and us leaking goals,

you write down the hard games we play away from home and spurs is in the top 3 just behind Liverpool and Everton,
I am not in the camp of hope others do us a favour by getting a result vs arsenal, we are not champions because of other results,

would happily take a point, but we must score first, then let's see can we get a result,
YES, we are good enough to win any game, BUT we are also sloppy this season to lose any game,
Let's not fool ourselves, We need a very good run of form to win the title from here on in, it's happened before and when we are facing our biggest fight we rise up and get stuck in, sometimes a result over performance means more, this is one of them vs spurs on sunday,

Don't know what to expect tbh
I'm pretty optimistic about this matchup as I think the way Tottenham collapsed against us last time will be in the back of their mind.

I would also note we lost to Tottenham in London at the beginning of last season. We have often been a slow starter under Pep, so I think playing them away in Feb. helps.

Tottenham were shite at the Etihad they only scored those two goals on the stroke of halftime because of our fuck ups.

So they will probably play us off the park on Sunday.
