PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

No, on the contrary I suspect that in the end it benefits neither the league, its brand, nor City for the sanctions to be of any real significance. I'm just guessing btw and have no professional insights or anything like that, but I can see it being a points deduction which maybe means a season out of the CL, and a slap on the wrist. But not much beyond that.

The wider damage to the club's reputation is now done. We've gone from old titles being questioned to literally every season up to and including the 100 point one being in breach of PL rules. Whether we win or lose from here, the damage is done.
Who gives a shite ?

Nobody else has had a decent thing to say about us as a club for more than 10 years, since the takeover

and plenty of accusations have been thrown at us from all directions anyway, accused of buying the titles etc etc etc.

so whats new?

The damage isn’t just to City though. The PL are accusing the dominant force in their own league, as having become so through financial irregularities/cheating. Their own reputation takes a huge hit whether they are proven right or wrong and that is what worries me about this whole thing. It’s ok the club being confident they can bat this away, but surely the PL are just as confident they can make this stick?
As we’re UEFA

Fuckall will happen. Stop panicking on shite being spewed out by hack journos with an agenda like Miguel Delaney. The Premier League is a staggeringly incompetent organisation on every level.

When we went through this with UEFA, the media were talking about us being banned from the CL for a few years and as a result KDB would leave etc. The same BS is being peddled now in regards to points deduction etc.

If it went down that road I'm pretty sure our owners have enough on the yank clubs to attack with.

Last night I felt really crap after a poor showing at Spurs. Now I'm feeling better weirdly. I always felt more connected to my club when our backs were against the wall. Us against the football world. This shit has gone on too long. Bring on our opposition. I'm going to give us loud support on Sunday.
I'm quite enjoying this. I'm just about getting over a massive hangover from yesterday's day out in London. Was still sulking this morning and wasn't going to come near Bluemoon.

Bit difficult to get respect when the rest of them think you’re just upstarts to begin with. We’re fucking despised for having the audacity to win titles, they can go fuck themselves as far as I’m concerned, the PL as a whole have made a fortune on the back of us and the dramatic winning of certain titles, of us bringing Pep to them Prem.

They should be fucking worshipping us instead of sucking up to the red cartel!!
I'm 160 pages behind but yeah I'm on your coach.....to wherever we're playing.

CTID and fuck the rest of them.

Chelsea spend half a Billion in one transfer window.

And City get hung out to dry in front of World MSM.

Bastards all of them.

This kind of stuff should be treated like a Guy accused of a serious crime. News blackout, Treated innocent until proven guilty. The damage to brand is what they really want.
We damaged their brand in 2012

I'd have no problem with a salary cap, if it was in any way practical. It's a salary cap that's linked entirely to revenues that's the problem. If the rags can only spend as much on wages as Wolves, bring it on.
In legal terms, the chances of a salary cap in the Premiership are between slim and none (and slim has just left town). Admittedly the top flight leagues in both UK rugby codes operate a cap. However, the Premiership is on a different scale financially with the result that the big clubs and PFA would most likely mount a powerful legal challenge. That's aside from the resulting discrepancy which would develop between English football and the rest of Europe and problems associated with policing the system. All the best players would inevitably drift to the European leagues where no such constraints exist. I'm not suggesting it's a bad idea but a classic example of the road to hell being paved with good intentions.

They didn't even do Soriano the courtesy of giving him the charges before giving them to the media and specifically to certain journalists. City have won 4 of the last 5 PL titles and that's how the league chose to handle it. That means we have absolutely no relationship of any real respect with the people running the league, and that's squarely at Soriano's door as he is the guy who sits in all those meetings.

That’s bollox.

We’ve been targeted from day 1, we get slagged off from a fat Spanish racist & the prem league hasn’t defended us.

I can’t believe you attacked Soriano for the way this has been handled when some of our worst critics are saying it’s suspicious timing with the white paper due.

Let's be honest here, none of us knows for sure if City have been naughty or not. We do know there has been a concerted effort to reign us in (The shithouse 9) and that certain clubs have way too much influence in the Premier League hierarchy. I can only hope and pray that we blow these allegations out of the water, and when we do, I hope we blow the whole fucking house of cards down.
Failing that, see you all at Macc away

Agree with that and im not saying you did anything wrong.

Im getting at the rules that were put in to stop clubs like you, us, Newcastle and anyone else that may dare challenge the traditional rich global clubs at the top of the table for titles.

The rules they brought in were never about sustainability and protecting clubs, so whether you did or didnt break any rules, I still want you to tear the whole thing down, exposing people, clubs, organisations etc along the way for the farce that it is. Expose it all!

With the PL sifting through over 100 irregularities over 9 years, think about that, WTF, they will get a few irregularities to stick, and in doing so, will be able to say City were cheating and our investigation was necessary.

CAS found City guilty for not cooperating with UEFA, which led to a fine, and the narrative in the press and across social media that City had been found guilty by CAS.

It's the biggest stitch up in PL history by the PL.(and their cartel clubs)
