PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

No, the Premier League and a lot of the bigger clubs (United, Liverpool, Arsenal etc..., probably even us) don't want an independent regulator.

So the Premier League are trying to show the government that they can be firm and don't need a regulator. To be honest I don't think the government really want to bring in a regulator either because they know how much money (tax etc...) the league brings into the country and they would rather not disrupt that. They're just trying to come up with an amicable solution to the ESL nonsense.

So this timing is convenient given the independent regulator decision has no been delayed.
Thanks mate. Gotcha.

And they won at CAS!
Maybe they know something more than you do about this subject

Yes eventually they won at CAS, and I'm sure they know more about the subject than any of us.

It doesn't change the fact that someone who tells you the same thing every single time is not hugely helpful.

It won’t me either but The whole thing is starting to make me doubt whether my time and emotional energy may be better spent on something else to be honest. It’s not this alone as I am sure it will drag on for years but the overall way the game is going. Players faking injury all game, the cheesy matchday experience, outrageous ticket prices, VAR ruining the moment, game dates and times being shunted around left right and centre, awful referees, the money sloshing around and fans being treated like customers. It also seems whatever we do that this accusation of cheating to get where we have will be with us forever regardless of whether it is true or not. This might even be why they are doing this. Mud sticks and reputation is damaged. I’m becoming very disilluised with the whole football experience, the clear media bias towards the two red sides and have not enjoyed going as much more recently.
My dad's 70 now. I've never ben to a match without him.
I think when he isn't here anymore my love for the game will go with him due to the way the sports has gone.

I'm tired of all the allegations etc. It's gone beyond banter now. I wish the club would sue everyone for slander tbh.

Because the Hateful Eight have demanded the PL go after City. I sense the PL don't want/need this, but if your "founding members" demand their competition back, what can the PL do?

If they piss off the red shirt mafia & they threaten to setup a new English Super League (Essentially the PL under new ownership/stewardship), how else could the PL react?
This has taken it to another level, if there is even remotely a vendetta, then if we are found innocent it will bring the whole PL down, and we will sue the fuckers for everything.

Isn't he just chairing the panel and will decide the outcome? He's not actually the one bringing the accusation? Thats the PL.

Do we know who has been the head of the investigation? I thought it was the same guy.

On what grounds did they decide to investigate City ? What made them think City must be cheating ?

do they investigate every PL club this deeply ? If not than it is a clear case of a witch hunt.

What is the pl views on money laundering for guns as shirt sponsors ?

Outcome predetermined.

Put it this way. If we aren't stitched up, would be ever be welcome at Arsenal or any of the red top clubs in the future and what sort of reception would be receive at any future games. Would he be put under pressure from some of the more extreme loonies at the club on match days, and that's on top of the crap from red top media.

Another vexatious investigation, nothing new. UEFA learned their lesson the hard way using evidence from a Portugese hacker which led the charge(s) to be found "not established".

The difference here, is that the PL do not have such a time restriction on supposed infractions of rules, nor is illegally obtained evidence inadmissible before the panel. The independent panel would view this as prima facie evidence which City would presumably question due to lack of credibiltiy.

As City said during the CAS hearing, they would welcome the opportunity to chanellege such charges which time-barring prevented in UEFA's proceedings. Such challenge is permitted PL rules due to the lack of of time restrictions. Nevertheless, it will be years before the panel reaches their conclusion and City and/or PL have exausted any and all potential appeals.

The timing here also appears significant, with a government report due tomorrow (or early next week) regarding the regulation of football, following the Super Leauge fiasco. I'm not one to by cynical, but the timing and the PL's desire to at least look like they have got their house in order may play in our favour.

We will not be going after the PL or burning it down. Just like we didn't go after UEFA and burn that down.

That's just silly, chest beating fan talk.

We'll fight the charges and that will be that.

I don't know how the PL can prove we consealed payments to managers and players without proof.

They will likely fine us heavily for non-compliance with the investigation.

i wjust wish if we are innocent we burn the house down anyway once and for all? Fuck NDA`S with regards the dippers hacking etc and just expose everything?
When we caught the dippers hacking, we surely held something back from the settlement in case of something like this. Is probably the right time to get the special file out of the cupboard and go postal.
