My suspicion is that we might have decided to cut our losses on Phillips and they have wanted him for a long time. He’s probably their main target as a replacement for Rice
Bowen, Paqueta or their new cb Aguerd seem to be their best players this year

In - Bellingham, rice, gavidol, Chilwell and leao.

Out - Laporte, Candelo, Phillips, bernado, Gomez

That’s how I could see it planning out.

You may be correct, however rice’s versatility in the number of positions could be a factor. Personally don’t see us taking the risk of having just Phillips as back up for rodri all season.

That’s it???

That was more than plenty to be going on with just now mate.

All good stuff, Gvardiol in particular excites me, if Laporte is wanting back to Spain then it’s a very good replacement with scope to be an upgrade.

Gvardiol is a thing that’s actually happening!?? This excites me just as much as Bellingham. He’s an essential purchase if we actually want a good build up again. Laporte replacement.
 
Gvardiol - Why do we need another CB, even if we sell Laporte?
A worst tackle success % than all our defenders. Worse aerial duel % than all but Akanji.
Can play left back and offer you no more than Ake does/would.

Just not buying the hype. Decent passer with pace but average defensively.
 

What are the upsides on an 90mil+ outlay?

Phillips - Rice exchange? Not sure what the West Ham comment relates to.
 
Dealing with West Ham could only mean Rice, surely? Interesting given their long-standing interest in Phillips. I like Phillips but would be more than happy with that trade off.

Gvardiol would be brilliant. So would Bellingham - adding him and Rice would ramp up the energy and legs in midfield which is very much needed.

Happiest about the fact we’ve told Joe Shields to finally do one, left and then started trying to sign every fucker from the academy. Fine at Southampton but Chelsea? Nice try.

He did say the other day that the deals are done and the money is ready so I wouldn’t be surprised. Better off to get them in before we sell them and don’t risk the mistake we took last season .

Gvardiol yes! I'm guessing Rice from West ham as EX West ham said they really like Phillips?
 
Looks like he’s collected an awful lot of opponents’ shirts over the years. There’s loads on the table there but only City and West Ham gets framed. That’s pretty much a City shrine if you ask me ;)

I watched that video, he’s got loads framed from memory but I do remember watching it and thinking there’s a lot of City! Plus he’s said in the past he’s modelled his game on Ferna too.

He’s at an age where he’s only seen us dominate really too so would make sense.
