I think most of what could be said has been said about this album. I liked it first time I listened, it made me sit up and take notice but it was less a whack around the head and more a gentle tugging of the sleeves. I've liked it on each listen although some of those have been more engaged listening than others. I don't mind that some of the songs seem to finish almost as soon as they've started but there is also a sense of the album while being good being a little insubstantial. The first track title is very fitting, Call me the Breeze as it felt like a cool summer breeze, one you hardly notice is there but is pleasing all the same.
It's hard to fault it but it feels like a transient pleasure. I'm likely to explore more JJ Cale so job done in that respect and I can se me playing this album again, maybe even hoping for a more concrete sense of it. For the appealing flimsiness it's a 7
