RB Leipzig (A) | Post Match Thread

Anyone seen a replay of the handball at the end ? Mates msg me saying it was nailed on pen , 2 hands on the ball ? Was var even in operation last night?
 
I don't suffer from paranoia. Their equaliser was a foul. Last minute it was a pen. UEFA's fingerprints all over it 'Don't give City any decisions at critical moments'. Give the fucking ball to Erling!! Gvardiol is rated one of the best and fastest CBs on the planet. Erling had one pass to take him on - left him trailing. We have the best finisher on the planet - and we have five or six players capable of delivering a precision ball through the gaps or over the top to him. Tell you what, if David was here he'd be giving Erling perfectly weighted pass after pass through small gaps to use his ridiculous pace and colossal finish. I sincerely hope that Erling believes we can put this right.

Part of me thinks the players should have all walked to the monitor and calmly waited for the ref to take a look on both counts.

BT - they only made a fuss of the handball long after the end. If that's Liverpool and it's a Prem game, there's endless replays because they know that VAR get the Sky/BT feed.

Seems to me that a goal for us only counts if it's perfect - but if it's lawful and in the dying minutes and needs to be looked at, it's not going to count.

The refusal of the manager to make changes to freshen up the side is bizarre. The big positive is that we didn't lose. But if we get past Leipzig, we'll need to considerably up our performances, and up them to 90 minute levels, not the current 45 minute ones.

Even if we approached the ref in a calm and controlled manner we would of still not got the decision. Pep has mentioned we need to be perfect to get the wins and forget about the way we are being officiated (as frustrating it currently is).

Right now no. I really think the lack of energy and legs is what’s killing us at the moment. Abit of effort and running would improve us tenfold. Remember when we would press high and win the ball back high up the field, that’s a thing of the past.

Kevin is being run into the ground as is Gundo. Pep is playing them like they are 23 year olds. They both seriously need a rest. And the latter shouldn’t be a starter for this club.
 
Despite being boring we scored 9 more than Arsenal and have an 8 goal better goal average. That is just in the league, and players apparently not passing to Haaland and not being assisted by the officials. We scored plenty in the cup competitions as well. Our only fault is we are wasteful.

Pep is too generous and soft on officials in his after match interviews. He should really come out swinging when the injustices of tonight happen. Are you allowed to propel yourself 12 feet into the air now using the defender as leverage. When did they bring that rule in ?.

The way Walker played in the 1st half meant that he would fade in the 2nd half. Leipzig knew it so they overload Walker side in the 2nd half to attack him. Walker played as a wing back or more like a winger in the 1st half to enalbe Mahrez staying more inside to fill in the hole KDB left.

Mahrez was never a good defender and he was not able to help a lot. Bernado tried his best but he was ran into ground.

It was sad that we did not send some fresh legs to help there.

You're right. And it'll have very little to do with the officiating. (It'll have a little, but very little). We're just good. Not very good, not great, just good. Which is fine, but we're not very interesting to watch, which is not fine at all.
