Fair play to NZ thought they played fantastic to get back into the game.

Given where we were 18 months ago, we can be so proud of where we are now. To go away to NZ, who are complete home track bullies, and not only compete but dominate over the 2 games, is a fantastic achievement.

We may not have won, but for fucks sake we're putting eyes back on test cricket.

That was one fantastic game. You see Root and Stokes smiling on the outfield, but if you think they were larking about out there you weren’t watching. Burnley Lara‘ll be chunnering about the not-given wide all the way home. Losing a game of cricket you’ve tried your darnedest to win is not the worst thing in the world.
 
Bat again instead of enforcing the follow-on and we win. Still can't get my head round putting them back in given it was the best time for batting.
But Stokes philosophy is attack, attack, attack, which is great entertainment but will also cost us.
The Aussies will love it and I'm fully prepared for a 100ao against them, especially given their bowling attack.

As an aside Stokes' injuries are becoming a problem. Can't really contribute on one leg and he's a better batsman when he's spending 'time' at the crease building an innings, which he did under Root.
 
Went to sleep at 12 thought we had a good chance but a new one wicket and we back in the mud! Could moan about the follow on as I have previously but that’s cricket, must of been a nail biter like when we win by 2 runs against the Aussies! Can’t wait for the ashes now going to be a classic series..

I'd have him open instead of Crawley and stick YJB in at 6.
 
This has also proven that 2 match Series are a joke. After those two matches, who doesn't want to see a decider right now.

I know the calendar is already rammed, but its unfair that sides like NZ and SA only ever play 2 or 3 match Series, while England, Australia and India play in these big 5 match series every year.

The calendar isn't the problem, it's that test matches lose money.

The average test match loses New Zealand Cricket US $500,000 and their total budget is about $35m

Didn't realise it made such a huge loss. I still think it should be up to boards with the most money to sort this out however. The BCCI can't be short of money with the IPL and all, the ICC should have rules in place meaning boards have to spend a certain amount of their revenue on Test Cricket.

I think yesterday shows us that test cricket is well worth saving
