PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

WE HAVE COOPERATED. BELATEDLY. NOT EARLY ENOUGH TO AVOID A CHARGE OF NON COOPERATION, BUT ENOUGH FOR THE PL TO CONDUCT THEIR INVESTIGATION. IF TOLMIES HAIRDOO IS CORRECT, AND HE USUALLY IS, WE HAVE GIVEN THE PL ENOUGH DOCUMENTATION TO FILL A PORTAKABIN. SO THE NON COOPERATION CHARGE OF WHICH WE ARE IMO GUILTY IS NOT “YOU DIDN’T GIVE US THE DOCUMENTS AT ALL”, IT IS “YOU DIDN‘T GIVE US THE DOCUMENTS WE ASKED FOR WHEN WE ASKED FOR THEM.”

NO. SEE ABOVE.

I have replied by including my answers in capitals in the post above

The use of capitals is purely for ease of identification of my comments. im not shouting at you.

Honestly.
Capitals normally means one is shouting! Either way it’s given me a headache lol.

Some are, but as said previously, Shirley after the last decade we should have got more, especially on the shirt/stadium.
Not sure - according to reports, we’ve got highest commercial income.

I thought our owners would want to keep the Etihad sponsorship on shirts & stadium but that’s just my thoughts - no info to back it up

As a lay person, I just can't understand why this would take 4 years to resolve. How about this timetable

1 Sponsorship of MCFC by Aabar within the PL rules 1 week

2 Sponsorship of MCFC by Etisalat within the PL rules 1 week

3 Sponsorship of MCFC by Etihad Airways within PL rules 2 weeks

4 MCFC use of image rights within PL rules 1 week

5 MCFC payments to Roberto Mancini within PL rules 1 week

6 All non cooperation charges 2 weeks

7 Summary, conclusions and decisions 4 weeks.

That's 3 months done and dusted, get into a project planner and get it done. I think the Bernie Madof case took less than 4 years !!!
The average time to sell a house in the UK is 4-6 months after a deal is struck.

So 4 years seems super fast in the eyes of Lawyers!!

Being totally thick here but in a way the police have to get the CPS to say we have a reasonable case to get a conviction ,
Is this panel similar to the CPS in the way it can say this lots not going to stand up and dismiss it or have we gone past this point and the allegations will definitely be heard ?

No, the PL has made its own decision to bring charges against us. We don't know, but it's a fair guess, that they had access to high quality legal advice in making that decision.

The panel is the independent tribunal that has to decide whether the charges brought by the PL - all 115 of them - are made out.

Here's a question.

Presumably at CAS, all the documentation presented as evidence is collected and filed confidentially at CAS somewhere?

What about the "independent" PL panel? Does all the evidence get collected and handed over to the PL?

No, it's the other way round. The only evidence the panel will have is that which either the PL or MCFC provides them with.

But that will be a lot.

This. Isn't there a chance that at the end of it all the PL can proudly announce that after thorough investigations it has been shown that the best team in the PL have been totally legit?

Maybe it would be good for the PL? Especially as La Liga is currently in danger of falling apart.
That's my take, based on wishful thinking maybe and nothing else

gill n parry won't let it go that easy

But what are tge PL risking? I think their risk was greater by doing nothing.
I really can't see how them losing the case is damaging, surely they hold hands up and confess to doing all they can. No cooperation fine accepted by City only on proviso it is publicly stated by PL why given, and not a sign of guilt.
I personally feel city are now as important to PL as tge red tops given our growth and status.
I totally agree.

Sorry for going off topic, but the amount of TV revenue the league brings in, from overseas rights alone, has gone up 5 times in the last 10 or so years.

Of course we have benefitted from that, but we are also one of the main reasons, as we've provided the league with some of the greatest moments the PL has ever seen.
Not to mention bringing the best coach in the world to the league, who in turn has transformed the way this country plays the game!

So yeah we're just as important and that's why i'm so fucking pissed off that they decided to charge us, the ungrateful cunts!

Whilst the suggestion from the OP, should it happen in the circumstances described, would be a truly wonderful thing to behold, I suspect that nothing of the sort will actually come about.

The input into the investigation, and resulting charges made against City, imo indicate a sinister, driven and coordinated attempt to damage the club reputationally and financially at the behest of the redshirt clubs who seek to control and hold power over the PL.

So should City successfully defend their honesty and totally professional running of the club, I would only expect the narrative to be that due to the inevitable fine for non-cooperation in the early stages of the investigation, the club has once again got away with a technicality, and are as guilty as hell.

Our enemies do not want us at the top table , taking what they consider to be theirs by devine right.

Up until the Aguerooooo moment, in my memory they’ve only had 1 season where anything like it has happened. That was the season Arsenal beat Liverpool at Anfield…we’ve given them (in no particular order):
1. Agueroooo
2. Villa
3. First team to win the Domestic treble
4. Winning the league with 100 pts
5. Most goals in a domestic season
6. Tied for most wins in a domestic season
7. Most away wins in a domestic season
8. Pep football
9. Kerching…for the massive deals the PL has been able to negotiate off the back of the above

the list goes on, but they really should be thanking us to the high heavens for the PL being the success it is, in no small part due to us…

Not got loon in his name for nowt.
Forfar Athletic Football Club are a Scottish semi-professional football club from the town of Forfar, Angus. They are members of the Scottish Professional Football League and currently play in Scottish League Two. They play their home games at Station Park, in the north end of Forfar.[2]

The club are nicknamed "the Loons" ('loon' is a Northern Scotsword for a young man), although they are sometimes referred to as the "Sky Blues" (which the club stopped using in the early 1990s). One explanation for the origins of the Loons' moniker is that the second string were younger than the first team, so over time people would say "I'm off to watch the Loons".[3]

A bit like flying to Leipzig via Liverpool, Dublin, Amsterdam, Kiev, Beijing & LAX to save a tenner, eh Dave?!!
;)
If that was for me dodge ? Nowt wrong with a quick tour round Europe ,but 4 countries in 4vdays was an absolute killer ,every penny helps in our house ,the money saved went to see the joy Division statues in Genoa £18 return last week and off to see the slow readers club in Antwerp next weekend £13'teturn :+)

Maybe, you never what's going on in someone else's mind, but I don't see it like that.

The one area where we are bang to rights, I think, is on the non-co-operation. My guess is that we took a strategic decision, on advice, not to co-operate until made to and to take the pinch on the inevitable charge of non-co-operation. They make their point about non-co-operation - which in fairness is a valid one - by hitting us (or asking the independent panel to hit us) with a massive fine. CAS said the fine in similar circumstances should be €10m when about 20 grand seems to be the going rate for blatant racism or smashing up your opponent's team bus. So 10m was a whopper.

I think if it came out that we have been charged with 5 legitimate counts of non cooperation and over 100 counts that the FA knew were going to fail, that I think brings their whole organisation into disrepute.

And for anyone thinking 'yeah but it will never come out,' I think that's what Matt Hancock said.
Do we have recourse for any of this if it indeed is all shown to be crap? From my laypersons view it seems the PL are free to slander and charge as much as they like. If thats the case, why wouldnt they?
