Conte needed to say that. The club is run atrociously, their owner is a pure business man who will not take risks.

And with Kane going their golden period is over, and it wasn't even golden.

Conte is right in many of his claims, but he also has to accept the fact that some of his players are ineffective and his style of football is turgid. The painful reality for Spurs fans is that the clubs who have coaches in the mould of Guardiola are doing much better and playing much more attractive football. They basically transitioned from Mourinho, whose football had already been exposed, to Conte, with many of the same players, and they could see from the latter’s history that it would likely be a short-term engagement. They should have gone for ten Hag, but I was told by some of their fans that he was too inexperienced and that it was too large a step up to a club of Spurs’ size. Indeed.

Laughed when I read this but then I realised that the poor fuckers probably do actually think that their club is bigger than Ajax and the managers job carries more pressure.

True. The same mentality will come into play in the coming months. Conte’s outburst yesterday would suggest that the relationships between him and the owners and him and the players are irreparably broken, yet where do they now turn? They genuinely are a big club with everything in place to succeed, save for a manager and a team.

If we were in pre2008 days the idea of a Levy ensuring that we have a top half team threatening to get into the CL and a vague possibility of an odd cup every 10 years would probably be welcome. Putting a ball and chain on the best player would be masterful. Trying to play politics to damage the best team in the league would be heroic.

How lucky we were. Still can't believe it.

They have spent a lot of money but on a lot of shit and average players. People like Davinson Sanchez, Bentancur, Richarlison, Doherty. They’re painfully mid table at best.

I don’t understand why Spurs don’t aim for the same level of players Chelsea and Liverpool sign. They claim they’re a big club (and they are) yet they go for really shit signings.

That's the thing, some of the fans really do believe that they are a big team, that they are amongst the giants of world football. You cannot help but stifle a giggle or two when they make these totally unsubstantiated claims.
I don't think it's fair to blame Levy and the money-men for all their woes (and they have plenty). He shoulders some of the responsibility, absolutely: but no one individual can be made accountable for the mess they've been in for so long. There appears to be an air of lethargy over the entire club, from the boardroom down to the tea lady.

On the pitch the players themselves seem indifferent to what is going on, almost as if they are saying to one another: "Oh, we lost again? Never mind, let's go partying again tonight."
You sometimes feel as if some of their senior players are trying hard to stifle a yawn when they are out there. They should be hungry for success: fighting for every ball, putting in a shift for those that pay their wages, not shirking challenges and going AWOL during a game.

Where they go after Conte walks out is anybody's guess, but there is no doubt the manager's job at that club is a poisoned chalice. The only reason anyone, players, manager, training staff and so on would go there is for the money. Which says a great deal for the club.

I've always thought that Kane really plays for himself before the team.
Personal glory and accolade is what he thrives on.
He should never of started that champs league final against the Dippers as he wasn't fit and they got through the semi's without him.
That was their biggest chance of glory and yet an half fit Kane decided he was playing and effectively left them with 10 men as he couldn't get into the game.
He seems bigger than any manager spurs have had in his time there
