Alexandole Boris de Pfeffel Johnson

Thing is, Johnson had always been the same. I don’t actually feel that much resentment to him, all he did was act entirely as I expected him to. I’m far more annoyed at his enablers.

If we ever get back to putting our faith in experts properly again and people are able to admit their own culpability at even a small level, it’s going to be a very interesting case study across the board as to why and how we as an electorate allowed someone like him to end up being the prime minister of our country. Think we’re quite a way away from that yet though.

I'll never again say of Germans who voted for Hitler that it couldn't happen here.

I agree, but are we supposing that the pot from where he gained power is somehow different?
Perhaps all politicians gain power with his traits maybe the small circle that choose any PM are so selfish they want puppets not leaders?

I'm sure all people at the pinnacle of their career will have some hubris but I get the impression particularly at PM Question time that most MPs get their education in how to lie anyway.

Tbf to them, Hitler never won a parliamentary majority and they voted for von Hindenburg over him as president by quite a convincing margin. It was a flawed system of safeguards and a perfect storm of events including the Reichstag fire and von Hindenburg's death that enabled the evil short-arse **** to launch a successful bloodless coup.

I'm not sure if that's whataboutery or just wrong. The idiots that chose him as PM are Tory members who like fascist leaders.

Never? The Nazis got 92% of votes, once they banned other parties from standing.

One of the small things I find interesting is how Johnson’s star has fallen even within what is, in essence, his ‘own‘ parliamentary party. Of the 365 Conservative MPs elected in 2019, around 107 were ‘newly’ elected, many of whom rode to victory on his Eton coattails. Should Johnson’s fate fall to the House, how many of them will vote in his favour? Precious few, I’d wager.

Not sure we disagree perhaps I was ambiguous so apologies for that.

I am aware that the small core of wealthy conservatives who choose their leader are not representative of all cons MPs in the HoC and are likely to want a comliant PM like Liz Truss to carry out their retention of wealth measures.

“he can’t define a woman” ? The lady with a pink hat on thinks in a weird way sees voting as if it’s a “pop concert” Britain‘s got talent vote for the weird candidate not the one who will care about the millions of working people.
Found that so weird that I googled it and Starmer said in response to a really stupid question that a woman is an adult female included people who have legally completed transition. Not sure how that translates into him not knowing the definition of a woman. Just shows the power of the media where certain elements of it can make people believe any old shite.
