Are City a better all round team without Haaland?

Question is. Is it because of Haaland, or are the other players trying to find him too much? I do think Alvarez helps link up the play better, but Pep will figure it out I’m sure.

With Haaland, that's 6 -1.
With Haaland that game finishes 6 or 7-1, so no.
I think it would have if Haaland came on later in the game, the game took the direction it did because we reverted to playing almost the same system as we did last year with a false 9 role. Alvarez was excellent. It just goes to show that we have more than one string to the bow.

He doesn't need to start every game, there's probably going to be a couple of games a season where the extra man in midfield will get the job done

I think today doesn't prove we're better without Haaland at all, but what it does do is show that we can manage without him. Alvarez is settling in nicely and answering a lot of questions. I would be interested to see if we can cope without Haaland away from home, because I don't think we've seen enough of Alvarez leading the line on the road to be able to answer that question.

Yes cuz spitty and Bt say so….yawn.

We are a great team with Haaland and a great team if we take our chances without Haaland.

Some games we need the Viking and some games like today we don’t. Either way, both fantastic options and we are spoiled for choice.

Mcfc have a fantastic squad. Soo soo lucky blues.

This.

We've got the choice of potentially 2 of the world's best attackers in the world. Their strengths will be used depending on who were playing.

Liverpool's away form made this a par score for us, should have been more in the end.

I thought that was our best performance of the season on Saturday, we looked a lot more like the team of the last five years. It wasn't solely down to Alvarez playing but I think the fact that he's a lot more comfortable dropping deeper was a factor in our passing being a bit more fluid. We were easier on the eye against Liverpool in comparison to how we've played for most of the season but does that mean we're a "better team" without Haaland? No, we're just different. The only thing that matters is we're better than our opponents.
