This aged well.Off course I meant what I said, baring his quality with his feet I fail to see any other striking attributes. I have given him the benefit of the doubt countless of times but has always flattered to deceive. He is surrounded with world class defenders and our ball possession prevents him from getting exposed but when he is, he rarely pulls off master class saves. The first role of a keeper is to pull off saves,then comes other qualities.
And when you saw the absolute state of a top class keeper like Sommer with the ball at his feet in those conditions last night, it really makes you realise how good Eddie isHe never saves anything, right? One of our most important players over the years. Cherry on top today.

I admit that I got it wrong about Akanji, he had a sensational game. As for Ederson, he just confirmed what I said in my first post, it takes world class saves to push the team over the line in CL and some people on here said we do not concede chances so why would we need a keeper who is good at stopping shots and his ball control ability is enough and bla bla bla, but it turned out that we do concede number of chances in a big CL game and we need world class saves. He impressed me tbh, long may it continue.This aged well.

Amazing 1v1 to save the 2nd goal. His approach was perfect, but his form to stop the shoot was even better. It's something I've criticized him before, I don't like his form in 1v1 (check Cortouis, Neuer or Ter Stegen they make themselves big), but this season he has made a huge improvement here.

He could've done better maybe, but he still extended his body really well. Before he would not extend it at all and would've make it easier to dribble him. I've been very vocal about some of his weaknesses, but every player has some. The important thing is he is working on some and improving a lot. That's what matters the most to me.Did very well for that but was business as usual first half when not for the first time vs Leicester Vardy rounded him with ease but was luckily offside this time.
