A Dr from Manchester (MRI) has just been on newsnight reporting he’s been prevented from returning home (was over visiting family in Sudan).

He's got a work visa to work in the NHS but isn't a British citizen. There's (reportedly) another NHS doctor who's a British citizen, who wouldn't leave without his mother. I'm not sure I believe that with one of those transport aircraft they're actually choosing between British citizens who live in Sudan and NHS doctors who were visiting. I suspect it's Braverman arguing against possibly letting people into the UK "under the fake garb of humanitarianism".

It’s nonsense, based on the slimmest grain of truth, you would need to show ID for credit checks if buying on contract or finance. That's the only reason.

But you could easily buy a second hand phone from a high Street resale shop and they won't ask you for ID. You don't need ID to buy on Amazon, buy vouchers in a supermarket for Cash and you can buy a phone without using a credit or debit card.

They don't ask for ID, they might ask for a one time password based on value. I had a Stanley knife delivered the other day and driver asked for date of birth not ID.

worked with a guy in the 80's who was a proper **** ( Scouser say no more ) he was an assistant manager and had quite the rep........ in saying that we got on because I only engaged him on sport NOT work.

He finally got his dream and elevated to office manager. Within 2 months there were complaints galore about him the office went on strike and eventually he got demoted and left in shame - all because he couldn't treat others with any sort of respect and didn't understand that as a 2nd in command his gaffer was covering for him and hist style was unacceptable when exposed to real life

I actually had some vague optimism about Sunak, thinking he might be the best of a bad bunch and do a decent enough job steering the ship for a few years.

Unfortunately, this and the Braverman episode has shown him to be just as big of a crony proliferating weasel as the rest of them.

I absolutely hate it when a minister resigns in disgrace and the PM sends out a letter congratulating them on their fucking “achievements”.

Nobody is out here discussing Savile’s contributions to Top of the Pops.
