Today's shooting in America thread

Neighbour Veronica Pineda said she heard the shooting, but that the sound of gunfire was a regular occurrence: "It's normal, in this neighbourhood they're always shooting. They're always calling the cops and there's nothing done for that.
"So yesterday I heard the shooting but I thought it was, like, a normal day. I never thought this was happening."

What a country!

It was just some kids out playing America’s Favorite Pastime…and some other kids playing baseball!

I mean, who didn’t play “Cowboys and Indians” or “Shoot ‘em up” as a kid?!!

Particularly heartwarming was the parent teaching her son the ever-important lesson that works for both being on fire and caught in the crossfire: Drop & Roll!

Never too young to teach such solid life lessons!

Lest there be any doubt, that is dripping sarcasm at what passes today for the pleasantries we once all enjoyed in life. As a parent, it is both heartwarming and sickening, at the same time, to think some of those children knew exactly what that was, while others wondered what was going on and why were people running around before the pitch was even thrown. And, to hear a parent frantically screaming to a kid to “drop and roll” for fear of actually walking over to the kid and getting them out of harm’s way tells you the fear parents live in for their children today in America.

Watching the endless speeches now from the police chief, fire chief, town council bod and now the state bod.
There will be a vigil Sunday 5pm at the local baptist church - but not outside the local gun shops.
Oh now the county judge is talking shit. Playing bingo by praising all the organisations that need to be praised.
Bloody hell now we have the Mayor up. This is going to be longer than the coronation.
I think they are all the same speeches at each shooting, it just gets emailed to the Mayor, who prints it off and gets read out.
 
Ts and Ps to Texas. Shame the police had to shoot the guy, where were all these gun toting good guys we keep hearing about?

It's just rinse and repeat and will be until the end of time. It's obvious if you've got guns freely available to every Tom Dick and Harry, that every so often a pissed /drugged up person,, a person with a grudge or a psycho will decide to start blasting away.
