Real Madrid (A) | Post Match Thread

We went there with a game plan and executed it to near perfection, just like Munich, Liverpool & Chelsea can’t defend for toffee so their only hope was to go at them, RM ran out comfortable winners in both ties. You heard the new song about the best defence in Europe? it’s not just a catchy tune, it’s a metaphor for our performances away in Europe, where we’ve tossed it off on too many occasions being gung-ho, we’re unbeaten in the competition & only conceded 5 goals going to Madrid Munich Leipzig Dortmund & Seville
This shows that our toughest games are behind us.

2 matches to go.....

Game on and all to play for, great position to be in.

Two wins in the next two games and the treble is a serious proposition.

Real’s tactics will be just the same for the second leg:
A low block, play on the break with those fast and skilful attackers; if they fall behind, bring out the shithousery.
It won’t be easy, but Pep will look to upping City’s tempo to beat the block. We will need to score twice, I reckon.
C’mon City.

Barca will play the 2nd leg?

How fast did Kevin's strike travel - 80mph maybe? Take your ball to the park and boot it as hard as you can and watch how it can take an age to travel 25 yards. Then come home and watch the replay of Kev's rocket powered shot - all timing, precision and elegance.
To be fair, Vinicius Jr's shot was quite the rocket also

Great result in a tough stadium. First leg was about avoiding defeat and getting them back to our place, where we’ve been fantastic recently. Big atmosphere and hopefully another performance like last year where we made them look ordinary…

There is an insane stat: Pep has never lost a 2-leg knockout when he has drawn the first game. Even more insane of all the 2-leg knockouts he's had (57 in total), he has only been eliminated once whenever there was a draw in any of the 2 games (2012 vs Chelsea they drew the 2nd leg 2-2 at Camp Nou).
Stats are killing the beautiful game.

The game will be won out on the pitch, should be a magnificent game, two brilliant sides and all to play for.

DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE Madrid, they are top quality and we will have to be at our best on and off the pitch to get over the line.
