I doubt we will get acceptable offers for all three of them. One will have to be loaned out imo, probably Cancelo again.
I would be strongly against this. We can't simply allow the guy to run his contract down on loans.
Bernie + Cancelo for FDJ
Laporte stays with us unless someone is willing to pay 60m quid.

We need to value our players. The 120 valuations would be what, 60 for Bernie and 30 each for Laporte/Cancelo?
Meanwhile, Barcelona values Fati at 70m, a 20-year-old who can't get in their team/can't stay fit. Laughable. We need to look at the price of potential replacements. We are not a charity, and we need to show it. I remember when teams used to think we were willing to overpay for players. This perception has now changed, and that's what we need to do with our sales now.

book values help though mate and it still gives us a cash boost starting with new players? Bernardo and Laporte on the books will be probably zero on the books and if we get say £50m for Bernardo its all profit?

If we do win the treble, it's the perfect opportunity to refresh the squad to bring in some younger, hungry players.

I like walker and mahrez but would be tempted to move both on and bring though younger players.
Michael olise to replace mahrez would be ideal.

Cancelo and laporte also to go.

Pefect time to refresh, irrespective of the treble.

Both staying, we can't sell too many of our 1st teamers. Gundo, Bernie, Cancelo, Laporte is loads as it is. I agree, though, it's a good time to refresh the team.

I think some will end up at PSG for the money we want

We don’t have a great deal of control over it though. He absolutely cannot be part of the squad after what’s happened, every interested team knows this, so how can we get an acceptable offer? They’ll low-ball us, we’ll reject. Then we hurry him out on loan just before the deadline.

We absolutely do not need to worry about fees coming in, nor out - we are on track, successful, and probably the best run business in the world game.

Tell us why you don't see a 100m playerThink it depends on wht we are looking
think it depends on what we are looking for

Rice as a replacement for Phillips is an upgrade.....

Rice to replace anyone else (Gundo for instance) is a downgrade - Rice is good at spraying the ball around from the back when he has time...but does he have the ability with the ball at his feet in tight spaces and under a intense press - im not so sure he does.....Where as i would say FDJ does have that...Rice may have the upper hand in being more physical however which would help defensively.

Im not saying this is right but when people see a 100m price tag maybe they want a complete player.....or someone of really high techincal ability - like a Bernardo type player (I know they are rare) - I dont see that personally with Rice....

I could see Rice Bellingham FDJ coming in and Phillips Bernie and Gundo leaving. Would that we a step down or up or about the same. Cancelo and Laporte going and Gvardiol coming in. That’s four in who might be 5th. The left back from Munich would be nice :)

No way we get all of the first 3 mate, as nice as that would be though! Not enough game time for everyone and no need for all 3 imo.

I do see it.

Like you,i was previously convinced his ability was limited to the above.....a decent defensive midfielder with limited technical ability.Having watched him much more closely over the past few games,i have changed my opinion completely.

He has superb all round ability, probably, due to his athleticism, more of a complete midfield general than Rodri (not specialist Defensive though) and more adaptable when it comes to squad versatility.I genuinely think they could play in the same pivot or trio, and few,if any, midfielders would be stronger.

100m is mental money, but looking at rumoured prices for players like Toney......we are now in that territory.

I think this line up would be superb

Walker----Stones--Dias----Ake
------------Rice--Rodri-------------
-----Foden-----Kev---Grealish---
--------------Haaland-------

Really? You fancy Rice over FDJ? ..not sarcasm, genuine question. Seems a few others are of a similar persuasion, so I’m wondering if I’m missing something, but I just don’t see a £100m player.
DeJong is great and would love him at City, I never see Rice do anything wrong always stands out and I just think he suits our needs better, he can rotate with Rodri or Stones and play the Gundo role as a deep lying play maker which FDJ can do but not to rotate with Rodri or Stones.
If Rodri was injured for the cup final against the scum I'd sooner have Rice than FDJ as a DM
If Gundo was injured then FDJ over Rice but we have replacements for Gundo.
Thats why I feel he suits our needs better and I'm sure others Bellingham McAlister or whoever will be recruited as well to replace Gundo or hoping not Bernie.

Yep,total agreement.

Rice and MacAllister would be incredible business, they would make the loss of Gundo and the need to replace Philips seemless and would completely covers our bases.

It would also save the potential of what is increasingly looking, admittedly media driven, like a circus where Bellingham is concerned.

My problem with that is I see it as too defensive and Stones and Rice doing a defensive job Stones can do himself. I am however open to being convinced Rice can play a more attacking role to replace Gudogan. I 've never seen him play that role but others ssem to think he can, if Peps one that can then then I'm in.
Though with that line up it would be Rice instead of Bellingham, who to my mind is a more suitable Gundogan replacement, so question is,is Rice the best Bellingham alternative?

@BlueHammer85

What you think? can Rice play a more advanced role? while also having the ability to get stuck in.

I think so,plus how ca a team with KDB,Grealish,Foden and Haaland be deemed too defensive?

Sign MacAllister too,and our options are there if we want the more attacking side.

What the hells this thread ?!

As for Rice, He’s certainly an all round midfielder, but not sure id posistion him in an advanced attacking mid role - his defensive side of the game is just too good.

He doesn’t possess the attacking and shooting instincts the likes of Grealish, Foden etc have for you.

So has to be in Rodri role, he can carry the ball from box to box and has long range passing ability that often doesn’t get mentioned. He’s a world class player and any of you big boy clubs will be lucky to have him.
