I know he had poor stats, I remember that
being quoted when we we’re linked with him… but assists are only assists if they’re finished off, and we may have better players to do that than Brighton had. He got in good positions and there’s a reason we were willing to pay up to £50m for him 9months ago. I just think there’s a good player there and all I said, was I wouldn’t be against it. Given Chelsea’s position we may get him for circa £40m and we we’re certainly willing to pay that less than a year ago.

Are you saying we bid £50m? Or even £40m?

All this Paris is a shithole or not chat is very dull, and completely irrelevant. If he wants to go and we get an offer that meets our valuation then fine. I hope we can keep him but will not begrudge his move. We've let plenty of great players go and managed just fine. It's not like Ian Dowie leaving Palace to go closer to family then taking the Charlton job so it's irrelevant really where he ends up, as long as it isn't another English club!

Paris is a shithole though.
I work in Paris (17éme) and live just north of there in leafy Val d'Oise, and have to admit that Paris is a shit-hole.

But, a lot like Newton Heath or Wythenshawe, the shit-hole parts aren't really where Bernardo will be frequenting if he does go there.

Doubt Cancelo goes to Arsenal but he's more than welcome to if he wants. They can have him, clearly talented with an awful attitude, rather someone else's problem than ours and better than a loan to another club

They can pay through the nose if they want him.

He's brilliant but so inconsistent, no real surprise our season started when he went. Both on-field and obviously off-field too.

If Arsenal get him they'll have bought 3 players from us and none of which are particularly leaders in the sense you'd be gaining their winning mentality. All of them were just part of the bigger picture here.

Perfect for Arteta, he’ll be stinking the place out within 3 months. Sell to them with pleasure £50 and he’s yours :)

As its Arteta......i'd be happy to throw in Gomez and Philips too.

No.. not Gomez.

1. It's hard to find someone willing to be a bench player. Probably twice as hard as it's to find a starter actually.

2. If someone is the 2nd most talented player at a U17 world cup.. he has some talent. Give Pep time to mold him.

3. He's a City fan who thinks of club first instead of himself first unlike a certain Mr Cancelo.

I hear all that, but that was 6 years ago.....when he was playing as a winger.

He was brought here as a left back and unfortunately he isnt the answer to our needs there.
His attitude may be spot on,and i know its hard to find players that are comfortable playing second fiddle, but im sure we could find someone who is more useful in the role he was earmarked for.
