Savinho

Savio was chosen for the Brazil u-20 team that will play in the CONMEBAL South American youth tourney in a coupla weeks. Think its the same tourney Max Perrone will play in repping Argentina.

The list was updated. Originally, Endrick, Giovani, Angelo, Marcos Leonardo, Matheus França, Victor Hugo, Beraldo and Matheus Martins were called up, but weren't released by their clubs.
New players in the squad are André (Bahia), Michel (Palmeiras), Alexsander (Fluminense), Guilherme Biro (Corinthians), Stênio (Cruzeiro), Pedro (Corinthians), Giovane (Corinthians), Renan Viana (Athletico-PR) and Luis Guilherme (Palmeiras).
Pedro and Luis Guilherme are 16, both could still be playing for the U17 squad.

As far as I can tell Savio has not made the squad so far in the SA U20 tourney thru 4 group stage matches. He did post a pic of himself in uniform, tho. Brazil fans on twitter seem baffled by his absence, a muscle injury was mildy claimed early on. Maybe he'll be available for the knockout stages.
 
Brazil just lost 2-3 to Italy, 0-3 at HT, comeback fell short. Savio didn't start, came on at HT out on RW. He shined, just tore Italy up. Would say best talent on the field but Italy has this Simone Pafundi kid who is Bernie-esque at 17 yo. I'll keep an eye out for an iso vid, but here's an assist Savio got for the 2nd Brazil goal. Kid just flows.
 
Savio's off season so far: got married, honeymooned, died his hair and has resumed training on his own.
Will be interesting to see what's next. He's owned by Troyes, who got relegated to Ligue 2 - gotta believe he won't play there. Wonder how much his work permit status restricts his options. The twitter scouty types were very impressed with his U20 WC showing. I'd be fine with him going back to PSV if he actually played regularly this time around.
