Like how Rishi backs Southampton FC. A team that blew a lot of money away and sank to new lows, with relegation to the lower league in the bag. Much like Rishi and his party.
 
He is looking so sign the Hiroshima Accord today - everything has to be an accord with him...... is that because calling something an agreement makes it harder to back track and renege from it? Could be with his limited knowledge of cars he thinks he is signing the paperwork for a Honda Accord?
 
Still brandishing the 'stop the boats' mantra/wanky slogan branding every time he speaks, like someone plugging their new cook book on a podcast, or a new Pepsi drink.

It's funny how Tories believe in 'the market' when it suits them.

But not in the case of legal economic migration. Suddenly, they become keen protectionists. People coming here to work are as much driven by market factors as anything else.

It begs the question - why is internal migration OK? Why should some guy from Yorkshire be able to 'take our jobs' in Manchester? What is the difference between our notional Yorkshireman and someone from Belgium or Spain?

To be honest, I don't think they really care one bit. They are just trying to get votes from people who hate foreigners, a pose they have always adopted since the 1960s at least. But they don't actually do anything for various reasons, not least economic ones. That is why immigration is at record levels. Record levels.

You’re right, they don’t care. Not a mention of legal migration until it was becoming clear that the media were going to report it. Was all about the small boats, now they need to change the narrative to suit the small minded.

You really are wasting your time and energy trying to find any consistent rationality with tories.
Everything they do and say is geared totally to self-preservation and ultimately having power, and they will do and say anything to achieve that.
On top of that they have no shame whatsoever about lying and being seen to lie.
But when you have sold your moral compass off to the highest donor, this is what you get.

I'm not sure what other answer you would expect from the last line, it wasn't about being poorer. It was asking the PM if he would condone theft, something he can't sensibly do (despite the hypocrisy of being part of a criminally corrupt cabinet).
