Brighton & Hove Albion (A) | Post Match Thread

just an illuminating thing. You said this, firmly, more than once. You were there, and it must be true.
I like to look in on other clubs' main forums. On North Stand Chat there's an odd thread laying into us — deluded fans, entitled, arrogant, bla-bla-bla. Quite aggressive really. It doesn't have a mass of posts, but it's quite jarring.
Now what this makes me think is that forums don't really reflect the overall matchgoing fan base. That they actually attract people who want to vent an extreme opinion, that is designed to attract maximum attention, one way or the other. That, by the way, would be true for all forums — this one not excepted.
Being a broadly moderate poster by temperament, I've always strongly resisted this claim, which has been put forward several times on Bluemoon, but I'm now coming to think there's truth to it.
Don’t forget my comments were about how good the experience was as an away fan. There were 2 things I saw that would have pissed off some Brighton fans about us (1) on the far left of where our fans were (as you looked on to the pitch) about 6 to 10 rows from the front there were 2 utter knobhead City fans who spent the whole of the first half goading and abusing Brighton fans in what was a family type area, made absolute cunts of themselves; that will have pissed some Brighton fans off, the 2 pillocks pissed me off too; (2) queuing for the train there was a knob with his little son shouting a lot of abuse at Brighton fans, he also was embarrassing. Other than that I saw nothing untoward. And I saw exemplary behaviour from Brighton fans, and indeed City fans apart from 3 knobheads

As I always say: I’m old not dead. Flirting is good for everyone as long as we don’t hurt others and of course I would never upset JB. (even though he doesn’t know I exist *rofl*)
If EB wants to flirt with JBS then EB should. She is a proper Blue and definitely John Boys biggest fan

I can’t find the original post @simon23
Newcastle have already taken the bloke responsible for setting up their European wide scouting network

Brighton said goodbye to him when we beat them 4-1…. Last season or season before.
Dan Ashworth, my old team mate when we played in Sarasota in the old A league, used to be my room mate. Good lad he was and went on to be FA tech director after West brom. My other old team mate Darren Eales now CEO of NUFC poached me. We were all mates funnily enough playing for Newmarket Town back in the day ..small world eh!

Poached HIM nor me sadly lol

Too many risk tonight for me. Yes play some key players but not for 90 mins.

If Phillips still can’t get 90 mins what’s the point!
Phillips...we don't often make mistakes in the market but this one seemed 'off' way before we signed him. Always looked a ''second touch is a tackle'' type player at Leeds. Rarely looked comfortable or controlled which in a City midfield is pre-requisite. Seems to lacks a bit of physical flexibility to me..seems to turn like Rodri but obviously Rodri makes up for that mllion times over of course.

I’m guessing he will be putting together similar at Newcastle
They have definitely learned from our blue print
Made me laugh how easy it was for Newcastle
Yet Utd and Liverpool haven’t got a clue

Brighton stated they were sad to say goodbye but they were happy the network was completed.
It’s paying dividends for them.

On a side note…. The midges at Brighton were brutal. They had more bite than Suarez.
Definitely kept fans off the pitch

In this broadminded day and age, you could still be playing a flirtatious game!
What strikes me more is that EB, on her own say-so (so I'm not being ungallant), is now well into her eighties. As someone who's just about to hit seventy, it's good to know that flirtatiousness can carry on far into life, whether between man and woman, man and man, woman and woman.
Let a hundred flowers bloom, I say…

Anyway, @Eccles Blue has eyes only for John boy. I'm quite charmed by Jack's Alice band, myself. Oh, and the calves, the calves!
I don’t mind a bit of flirting too, I joined the FOC club myself last year (I liked to use the term codger as I don’t like the c word especially for a woman). I’m broad minded enough too to say each to their own and with that, what goes on behind closed doors between adults is no one else’s business.
As for our City boys, I think Jack is a good looking boy and Rodri too:)
Let’s carry on flirting:)

Probably tactically cultvated...that Bloom thinks of everything!

I wasn't there but wasn't there a match in the late 90s when the Arse absolutely smashed us at Maine Rd, and people were applauding them at the end? Even during the match?
It was during their henry, vierra, petit etc era , think we were 4-0 down after 20 mins and we (certainly us in the main stand) gave them a standing ovation at HT.

Interesting. I absolutely loathe it when I see our fans giving it the big one, especially at away matches. No. (2) you mention is positively sociopathic. It would be bad enough to be doing it on your own, but to be doing it in front of your own little boy. Just staggering.
I've never been naive enough to think that we were angels just because we were City, and I suppose every fan base has absolute knobheads, unfortunately.

Yeah in the scheme of things it was nothing terrible, just pity that little lad who was copying what his dad was doing. At least my kids just shout fuck off at Taylor, Oliver etc (which is ok)!

I remember it too.

2001: 0-4. 2003: 1-5.
Sheesh!! Very little resemblance between the two City teams either, so you can't blame it on that. Different personnel almost entirely. That was some Arsenal team, that. Good as they've been this season, the current Arsenal team doesn't come close to them. I don't think any Arsenal fan who saw those days would disagree with me.

I was there.watched from the old North Stand Maine Road
It was men against boys,Arsenal were on a different level, they were moving the ball so fluidly...we were just chasing shadows.
They got applause from around the ground from Blues during the game half time and I imagine the end, altho not sure if I was still there full time....

Used the park and ride. I had my City cap on and the moment I got out the car, a guy came up and shook my hand and said well done on winning the league - make sure you win the fa cup we hate United.

Had a good chat in the queue with a few Brighton fans, genuinely excited at making Europe.

Entertaining game overall. Missed Rodri presence in his usual role.

There was a typical southern gobshite in the queue afterwards telling his mate at the top of his voice for the benefit of everybody how Halaand hadn’t had a sniff.. it was pointed out to him that he missed two sitters, had a goal harshly ruled out and made the goal

Was that the match when Arsenal were four up after 20 minutes?

My word my opinion has upset you', why? It's gone now get over it and enjoy the rest of games. Hopefully we win the next three that's the important thing.
No just a counter opinion. Its bollock to say "2 wrongs don't make a right", what all fans want is consistency in decision making.
