Brighton & Hove Albion (A) | Post Match Thread

Only saw the last bit of game, but come on, there is no way that goal was going to stand, everyone needs to get their tin foil hats off and accept that a goal is always going to get scrutinised and his pull made a huge difference to getting to that ball.

I‘m the worst for thinking refs and var are bent against us but even I think that decision to rule out the goal was correct.

Really impressed with Brighton's recruitment, Mitoma, Icenso, Caicedo, Mcallister, Estupinan, etc. Absolute bargains!
Mitoma looked unplayable against L’pool, terrible against Utd and good against us. He should have been booked today too.

It's more about managing the players, not so much resting any. HOWEVER, I'm a bit miffed that our squad couldn't wait two weeks to have a title piss up!

What is it with English football & fuckin booze? They're highly paid professionals, but our season is far from over so why the fuck they can't wait until the 11th of June to either have their piss up or drown their sorrows is beyond me!

Surely remaining professional & focused for another 20 days isn't beyond our club? :-/
You are Scrooge and I claim my £5 :O)

Yep, I didn't complain one bit. It was a clear shirt pull and the referee didn't spend long at the monitor either.

Decent all round. Left a few at home gave most some mins.. chance to heal any knocks, wings and dings. Didn’t lose.. and didn’t kill ourselves going for a win . Penultimate game done one more training game before the “fun” starts.

If every shirt pull is a foul I am ok with that to be given as a foul. But 95 of of 100 are not given, particularly when it is a defender against attacking player. So, it moves from the realm of game refereeing to the game management, because the decision was based on the outcome. But more importantly, the ref on the pitch didn't see it as a foul but VAR did and they together changed it. Imagine this happening if Arsenal was a point behind, or in the FA cup final. And this is a clear game management by the ref and VAR people, let's fit in our decision making into some narrative. I am actually really pissed off.
Absolutely agree with that, it is game management. Not only that but if it's not a clear and obvious error then VAR shouldn't even be involved. Either give every shirt pull as a foul or don't give any of them. You can't have it both ways and expect fans to be happy about it.

It's not about tonight's result, it doesn't matter in that respect but what if this had been a deciding factor in a cup match? Or a title decider? If it's a foul then so was the pull on Bernado in the first half.
