Got him off the internet on a free - never a good idea. John Gidman is the one that always sticks in my mind as he joined us the year we got relegated and had an annoying rag lived next door who kept describing him as agent Gidman as though it was part of a big Ron plan until I pointed out it must have also involved united being shite and getting the sack.Wasn’t that a Bosman though? And if so, does that count?
I did see your other post after postingWas after Tevez - and see my previous post! :-)
Remember John Gidman in those days. He used to play with his sleeves rolled up and his collar up. What a poser he was! Did a half decent job for us though to be fair.Yes, remember some in the Kippax singing ‘Sammy Mac’ on his home debut and getting drowned out by boos. This was after he’d scored in his debut away at Coventry!
It was a desperate time, feeding off the rags’ scraps.
I guess Terry Cooke was the last one who made that moved directly until Tevez came here, as Schmiechel came via Villa.
Unless I’m missing someone!
let me guess what results showBBC running their usual 'combined xi' poll for the cup final. Good to see the Beeb finally investing the license fee into comedy again.
Rashford or Haaland?
De Gea or Ederson?
Fred or Rodri?
We want to hear your thoughts!
We busted Liverpool’s “quadruple” charge last season - never gets mentioned by the media for some reason…

macari is all right.Know someone from Stoke who thinks he’s a brilliant bloke. Done a lot for the homeless in the area
Speak quietly, walk tall, carry a big stick !!Lol, the fail are the first to start stirring the pot re the threat of violence on Saturday. MET POLICE WILL FLOOD OLYMPIC WAY TO TRY AND PREVENT VIOLENCE they scream. These are by far the worst for actually seeming that they want trouble to happen
The UAE / Abu Dhabi are hugely influential in world politics and finance and are highly regarded as businessmen, allies and custodians.Yes I agree totally with this. Those you mention are so blinkered - they can't write about anything else. They should be addressing the whole issue of equity and creating a fairer football environment. There is enormous scope for investigating this issue but sadly 'journalists' are not interested. Most jump on the 'sports-washing' band wagon and never question the motives of the red top clubs to stop City and anyone else who has the potential to become a serious player. It's difficult to come to any other conclusion than they see their role to protect the status quo and they will either ignore any contrary evidence or distort factual information until it informs their agenda.
Watched the film Marvellous a while agoKnow someone from Stoke who thinks he’s a brilliant bloke. Done a lot for the homeless in the area.
That said, you make a fair point…
Agree absolutely - they don't need to engage in sports-washing and the truth is the Sheikh is an astute business person who has made an incredibly good long-term investment. Just what the industry needs - but of course no credit is given from the usual suspects! The UAE / Abu Dhabi are hugely influential in world politics and finance and are highly regarded as businessmen, allies and custodians.
Sheikh Mansour bought City for £200 million with the ambition to create the best of everything in world football particularly on the playing pitch.
He/UAE/Abu Dhabi don't need sportswashing to enhance their nations, profiles, reputations or popularity.
They are amongst the most advanced, and fastest growing countries and economy's on the plant and advancing at at phenomenal rate.
Manchester City were purchased as an investment (£200M v £4.8B) and for the Sheikh's sporting pleasure.
Manchester thanks you Sheikh Mansour !!
I read somewhere that his private car collection is worth £3.2bn and he owns two super-yachts with combined value of £1.1bn. Yet these clowns can’t contemplate his private wealth (and he is quids-in on his investment in City !) and play the State-owned card. This of course then opens the door to all the “sports washing” bollocks and human rights bullshit because a deeply conservative, theocratic Middle Eastern state has different cultural and social values (& naturally inferior) to ours. It’s fucking infuriating. The UAE / Abu Dhabi are hugely influential in world politics and finance and are highly regarded as businessmen, allies and custodians.

Surely we bought Tevez from West Ham? He was only on loan to them lot.Yes, remember some in the Kippax singing ‘Sammy Mac’ on his home debut and getting drowned out by boos. This was after he’d scored in his debut away at Coventry!

I think tevez was only on loan to everyone - third party owner?Surely we bought Tevez from West Ham? He was only on loan to them lot.
Ahh, Kia Joorabchian's MSI company. I'd forgotten how convoluted that all was. Was it Sheffield United who tried suing WHU when they got relegated instead of them?I think tevez was only on loan to everyone - third party owner?
