Istanbul CL Final chaos | City Matters statement (p 133)

Agreed but as Turkey isn’t in euro why the fuck should we pay in euro. Some scammers walking up and down aisles with UEFA ID which was obviously faked trying sell small cartons of water for 100tl. Robbing cunts which is what I told one. Heard of these people paying stewards to get into fan zone etc to sell overpriced shit.
That happened to me as I was coming down the steps . There was an unaccompanied cardboard box full of cartons of water.
I leant over to get one and this guy pops out of nowhere shouting and gesturing. He then demanded 100 tfl . I fucked him off in no uncertain terms . I threatened to kick him in the face the scruffy twat .
He disappeared quicker than a Liverpool fan at the job centre.

Just about to take off back to Manchester. We resorted to a £100 cab ride back to our hotel. Already in the process of raising it with the club, although I’m almost certain that they’re already aware. Not overly confident we can achieve anything with UEFA but we’ll see what we can do.

Was an utter shambles - the match going fan treated with utter contempt once again!

Our bus from the fanzone went the wrong way twice - then we hit traffic 2 miles from the ground because of absolute gridlock of locating the stadium in such a remote location and it was clear it would be quicker to walk then wait of a steaming hot bus…2 mile walk on the main roads with no footpath

Got into the stadium after long trek in the heat and two cups of water and packet of Doritos - £17 and queues for food and drink 80 mins long

After the game no directions, signs or stewards - we trekked to the coach park to see utter chaos - no idea where to go no organisation and zero movement. Fucked that off and then trekked to the metro only to find it was shut at 2am but the train station was open - again zero signs and zero stewards to ask/help

I felt lucky as i seriously considered taking my old man who would never have made any of the walks so I felt sorry for anyone who had accessibility issues as it would have been an utter nightmare- football for everyone my arse

To consider what uefa were charging for those tickets they should be utterly ashamed of themselves - no better than the street sellers around the ground trying to profit from the fans willing to travel to see their team

I posted same on another thread but think about it €2.50 for 250ml of water. That's TEN EURO A LITRE!

Criminal.

The street sellers were a god send to me. 20 lira for a bottle of water (fair price) instead of 200 lira for a tiny cup (half the size) in the ground. No issue for me them.

The twats in the ground however…

Either a lot of people were on the same bus or several buses got lost en-route to the ground.
Chaos after game. There were queues marked for SAW and IST airports and the city centre but the buses were just leaving from where they were parked not by the queues.
When we tried to find one to IST we were amazed to see loads for the centre and SAW and the only IST bus was packed.
It would have been so much easier if the police had proper control on the road outside the ground, giving some priority to coaches leaving the car park for City buses. - Complete circus, but UEFA will say the fans were safe and just ignore the chaos.

Signage on the Metro for the Stadium was pretty piss poor. Took us 3 hours to find it and the station near the stadium had people being kettled into a space in some railings no wider than a standard door which left people stampeding in a tight confined area.

Buses on the way back were an absolute joke, this stadium is in the middle of no where and doesn’t have the infrastructure to support the capacity it holds. What possessed Uefa to hold it in Istanbul?
Granted the buses after the game were shit. Roads in the surrounding area should have been closed to allow all traffic exiting the stadium to flow. And why anyone thought it was a great idea to have all buses, coaches and taxis having to exit on that road is anyones guess. Add into that all the posh fuckers in there tinted window private taxis getting ushered through and it was absolute chaos.

However, the stadium was clearly signed on the metro and other than a carriage being packed we found the journey really easy getting to the ground and I wish we'd have used the metro to leave the ground too. We've been in Istanbul since Wednesday night and had a brilliant time. It's a cracking city. The game should have been held in a different stadium though. Maybe Galatasaray.

Shambles both ways to be honest. Nearly 3.5 hours to get there after boarding the bus at 2 pm. The useless bastard kept going the wrong way, stopped twice at bus stops to ask random strangers for directions and then to cap it all broke down a 30 minute walk from the Fan park. Back to SAW after the match and the bus we got on at 00.40 was parked the wrong way and had to try and turn round in the car park as the stewards Just allowed people to wander all round the cars, buses and taxis. Once off it was pretty plain sailing and he got us back in under 3 hours to his credit.
Fortunately us Blues are known for our patience, tolerance and are ability to quickly assess a situation and offer well meaning, helpful advice …. “Just ram the cnut you useless twat” was probably the pick of the bunch!!

Also, some wheelchair users really struggled in the shit hole of a shuttle bus park. It was just rough stone and dirt. Wheel chairs got stuck in it and couldn’t be pushed. I witnessed the pitying sight of disabled blues having to get out of their chairs and literally struggle like mad to try and get to a bus. It was so disorganised it was dangerous. Also saw older blues struggle up loads of steps up to the stand. Disgusting venue. UEFA don’t give a shit about paying fans. If it looks good on TVs and the corporates are ok that’s all they care about. Booooooo them loud and proud forever!
Agree. Venue was absolutely shite location wise. No free water available either. Uefa should hang their heads in shame.

It's almost as if someone has to die for anything to get noticed by the pricks that run the game.

Seeing older supporters struggling to get on packed buses was hugely concerning and I'm really surprised that there's not been reports of supporters getting into real difficulties.

3 hours in total to get from the stadium to SAW on one of uefas fucking buses….utter chaos. Uefa won’t give a fuck tho and will declare the organisation a success.

Kiosks in the ground we’re a joke too.

I noticed and others too coming back on the shuttle buses, the atmosphere was subdued and very quiet, when you passed another bus everyone was just looking glum and not in high spirits after finally winning the thing.Everyone was
pissed off and tired with it all.Tbanks uefa you incompetant clowns.

Lucky you, we are currently delayed on one of the club trips by two hours. Is it because the plane taking us home was delayed this morning flying fans home before it flew back for another us because of the shit show on the car park. Did anyone at City who handles logistics etc fly out to the stadium prior to the match, if so it was pretty obvious that we were getting shafted. Milan end apparently was proper roads, all tarmac etc, we had what was essentially a dirt road and then treated inhumanly sitting on stifling hot buses for two hours. Wonder if Ceferin etc had same issues?

I saw all the UEFA air conditioned cars and people carriers being ushered through after the diplomatic vehicles had left. 2 hours we waited for the bus to Saw with my friend who is disabled and walks with crutches. The disability support at the stadium was nonexistent. I don't normally swear but I was swearing like a boat full of sailors last night.

Understand it may take a while to leave with being 20k plus fans and all but the fact there was 0 staff about anywhere to give any help wad crinimal
