One of the finest displays of centre back performances I’ve ever seen and I am not exaggerating. That was a hall of fame performance. This guy is still just 26. Absolute demon at the back. His passing sometimes goes unnoticed, but even that was ridiculous yesterday. Genuinely in awe. I cannot remember a CB performance as good in the final of CL

I think our resurgence in the second half of the season had a huge amount to do with Ruben playing regularly and SO well, an absolute colossus of a player and a man

He’s Kompany with fully functional muscles. It’s a wonderful sight.

his ability to make those last second crucial interceptions and to block shots is second to none for sure. i also dont remember him being as good on the ball as he was this season and even in the air where he struggles a bit he was elevating above lukaku time and time again in the final.

The cherry on top being his natural leadership qualities of course. But now if Cancelo and Sillva leave we need to get him a portuguese buddy :( or brazilian at least
