Something clearly got Pep off course with Philips, to the point of not putting him on the field at all. Maybe a split is better for both of them?
This is the thing.

Stones was having a bad patch, still played him.
Rodri struggled his first year, still played him.
Grealish struggled his first year, still played him.
Mahrez form can be inconsistent, still plays more than KP.

Only players than you can compare Phillips minutes to/importance to the team are Gomez who is going, Palmer a academy grad and Perrone a Jan signing and prospect.

Something not quite right in my opinion.

Don't see Arsenal getting a deal accepted with West ham. The first offer is normally low as its a negotiating tactic but that offer today from Arsenal was insulting.
£80m + addons?

That would make him one of the most expensive players in Premier League history - only Jack would be higher for a transfer between Premier League clubs.

It was how it was structured. Add-ons were if Arsenal won the champions league and Premier league.

The 80 million would be payed over six years 13.3 million a year for 6 years.

Coming back overweight from World Cup was probably a negative.

Anyone hear the Guardian's 'Manchester' football correspondent on H & J earlier. He was supposedly on to talk about the latest transfer news from a 'Manchester' perspective. Strange then that he spent the whole 15 mins talking about a team from Trafford without a single mention of their more successful Manchester neighbours.

Totally pathetic and unprofessional behaviour from The Guardian who deserve to lose so much of their income as a consequence.

Only thing that surprises me with that above is they discussed anything to do with football on H & J. They normally bring some band in who know one has heard of to discuss their album or interview some unknown actor in theatre play that’s just opened. The worst show on radio.

Not that it makes any difference but i don't rate rice at all and don't see what all the hype is about. Run of the mill average dm
Still think he’s a ball playing CB. I mean that’s what he started out as.

Don’t rate him as a DM. He’s gotten better over the years of course but maybe I’m so used to seeing what a superb one looks like in Rodri but even for England, always thought he’s never done enough.

Just throwing yourself about isn’t enough.
