Car driving standards

I've just came back from France. It was a dream to drive over there. Quiet roads and no knobs behind you constantly wanting to get past. Here it's chaos at the moment, can guarantee there's a crash every morning somewhere along the route to work.

Some absolute Herbert's on our roads..to those blues that drive be careful. Looks to be getting a lot worse on our roads ?

It's been like this for years.
Inappropriate driving speeds, not indicating, hogging middle and outside lanes on motorways.
Weekends seem even worse for shit drivers too.

Just back from France. Brilliant road surfaces almost everywhere but I found tailgating to be much worse than here, especially on the toll roads.

I travel on Motorways once every 3 weeks or so during the working week and it usually works well. Yesterday was on the M62 and M60 and witnessed so much bad driving e.g. people didn't like to be overtaken and speeding up, middle lane hoggers at 50mph, lane 4 to junction exit in one move etc.

Seems some people have to get where they should be 10 minutes ago or getting that 1 car in front is all they care about . Selfish attitudes to other road users but more importantly it’s dangerous . Have a mate who was killed by a driver who was over the limit . No excuse at all ….

Yep.
Poor driving and piss poor roads that can't cope with the amount of traffic on them.
I drive everyday, and mostly hate it.
If I could use a clean cheap and reliable public transport network to get to work I definitely would do.

Seems to be an increase in teenagers dieing in these high powered cars..Read last week 4 dead in a BMW down south

Was a taxi driver for many years until recently, one thing it taught me was not to speed through town, you race from a red light to the next. Also young women on the school run, kamikazes.

Two cars behind me on the A6 in Chorley last night, foot down and over took me fully on the opposite side of the road at about 80 mile an hour. Fucking dangerous lunatics.
Happened to me in Radcliffe the other day. Narrowly missed the oncoming car too.

The latest craze around here is turning right at a roundabout from the left hand lane. I have seen twice people turning left from the right hand lane.

Roundabouts have become very dangerous
I live near M60 J19, which is the Heaton Park roundabout. The number of times I've come off there from the M62, going right towards Manchester, and there's a car in the outside lane (of three) coming from the Manchester direction that turns left across you to go onto the southbound M60.

Middle and outside lane-hoggers on motorways do my head in completely, particularly those doing 60 in the middle lane when the inside lane is clear, fucking oblivious to everything around them, even when you either overtake and pull across to the inside or go past them in the inside lane.

just been driving in Wales and the number of drivers doing 30-35 mph on roads where the national speed limit applies (which is 60 mph on single carriageway roads) was staggering. It's like they simply don't understand what the limit is.

But a couple of weeks ago I was driving near my house and came to a roundabout, where there was a road on the left or you could go straight ahead. There was no one turning right from the other direction so I went, when this woman driving a BMW shot out from the road on the left. Obviously I had to slam my brakes on to avoid hitting her but she gave me a load of shit. I actually had to think for a minute whether I was in the wrong but I know I wasn't. The frightening thing is that she genuinely thought she had the right of way.

Cheetham Hill thinks it’s a film set for Fast and Furious. Cars park side by side into the road on double yellows and everyone thinks normal roads have a 60mph speed limit.

Fucking mental round there for driving!

And just generally everywhere. Young women are forever looking down at their phones, young lads think they’re Jenson Button, German saloon drivers clearly leave for work an hour too late as they’re always in a rush in rush hour, people don’t indicate anymore, people don’t understand how to drive on the motorway, every **** speeds… if it’s 30 they go 40, if it’s 40 they go 50, if it’s 50 they go 70 (especially on the new dual carriageways south of the Airport/Poynton to Macc etc. everyone just drives on them at 70 when it’s 50 nearly along the entire stretch).

My mate at school who was 14 fucking years old and her baby sister are both dead because some **** left to go somewhere too late or was just a speeding **** and crashed into them. They’d be 40 and 26 now.

Also my mate’s younger brother was knocked off his bicycle and killed by a speeding driver about 6 years ago, he was in his early 20s.

Then also have another mate who has permanent injuries when he was crashed into by a speeding car when he was driving a minibus and it spun the minibus over.
