It's funny, isn't it, have we all have a fear of the 'norm' - even after all this time.
'We need a centre forward' - season without and we win stuff.
'We need a proper left back' season without and we win stuff.
'Wtf! 4 centrehalfs - we'll get torn apart down the wings'
'We need only one cdm - they can't do anything else!'
There are a number of things we can rely on. 1 Pep doesn't do random, he has a plan. 2 We won't always see it straight off. 3 We will win shit.
As strange as it may seem, and we don't know how real the Rice thing is yet, if we have Rods, Rice and Phillips on board next season, Pep already knows how it will work.
Have a little faith - we owe him that.

FDJ won’t be moving. Seen Rags saying they’ll get him this summer haha.

Rice appears to be the man for City, let’s hope we get it done.

Would be so difficult to defend against because an attack can spring from anywhere across the back. It's a bit like the False 9 concept in reverse.
Especially if the two floating CB's are Stones and Gvardiol. Akanji/Ake and Dias as standing at the back.

People have been saying this Rice deal seems weird but, from our side, I'm pretty sure we've just been waiting for confirmation on who is departing.

Rice would be taking the Gundo spot and I'm pretty sure Ilkay himself didn't even know until a few days ago if Barca could sign him, never mind us.

Imagine if we were in a situation where we end up with Rice and Kovacic and both Bernardo and Gundogan ended up staying because nobody could afford or wanted them. Doesn't seem like a bad problem for us to have in terms of team selection and rotation but it would cause problems.

Piss-boil in the bag rice? Gooners gonna crack up fam
