Folks really need to relax. Pep himself knows that the real world isn't Fifa. You can't sign anyone you want and he's gone through such phases every year.

Personally I've never understood how Rice could improve us. Again, don't come at me - it's just that I don't get the hype. Bellingham - I understand, Rice - not much. That frees up significant funds for us and we could get a couple of very decent players for that price - primarily a winger and a box to box MF. Think we're getting the Gvardiol deal done - anyway.

Dias had to start straight away the defence was a fucking mess. He'll be eased in especially if he is playing the Hybrid LB/LCB/DM role Aké currently fills superbly.

I personally don’t care that we missed out on Rice. It annoys me that it feels like the board are probably celebrating this and lapping it up as a opportunity for others to see City as sensible.

Nobody and I mean nobody will ever give us the credit we deserve or care that we aren’t actually the biggest spenders.

The only reason to be concerned is that a rival is considerably improving themselves in a crucial area.

However, I've got faith that Kalvin will be like a new signing next season. Add Kovacic/Perrone into the mix with McAtee, Foden playing more centrally as well as Stones/Rico supporting the midfield, and we weren't in need of Rice.

Even Shea Charles has excellent potential as a holding mid / CB.
