Reading the comments under the Rice to West Ham article in the Daily Mail, the majority of the Arsenal fans aren't happy about the £105mill transfer fee, a think Arsenal have been taken to the cleaners by West Ham.

Tbh with Phillips staying we were never going to sign Declan rice as both players are on similar level when playing for England anyway and what with Rodri being the best in the world it didn’t make sense .

Not with the first bid we put in, that was never going to be accepted, looks like Txiki has played them good and proper.

100m was always a very high price for the player but we were never going to get him for less.

You keep saying that… this isn’t Dickinson’s Real Deal! What makes you think we would waste our time with a perfunctory offer, that only serves to set up our actual offer?

We bid, it wasn’t enough, Arse bid more and we moved on.

By all accounts it was £95m paid in 2 years (incl realistic add ons), and Arsenals latest is £105 (they aren’t miles apart - so it was a serious offer). It wasn’t accepted, Arsenal went higher and we move on. I like that approach and it’s served us well so far.
