Because I’m not fucking insane. Think about what she said mate. Read it back and ask yourself in what world pep tells us to make a bid just so Arsenal can get the deal over the line. My head hurts just typing that out! Haha!
Mate, there were people on here up to 10 hours ago claiming he was spotted in a local hospital having his medical, & some were even willing to bet a kidney on it! Lol :-)

I'm not saying she got it absolutely spot on, & none of us outside of City's transfer board will truly know what our true intentions were, but the end result was Arse panicked & coughed up £35m more than their initial bid, & with the mission complete, we stepped away & got on with our intended business, leaving Arse massively overpaying.

Eni was more on the money than many of us gave her credit for... :-)

It’s moronic. Like we have fuck all else to do.
Besides, Pep probably thinks arteta is a bit of a ****.

You think? I think it's the familiar pattern of - put a bid in, and if the player wants to move to City it happens.

If he allows a bidding war then he's not 100% committed to moving to City.

Like sancho, sanchez, Fred, jorginho, Ronaldo etc. I think we weed out the mercenaries from the 100% committed.
I don't entirely agree with this. The player is best served not showing any favoritism. Even if he prefers us. It is not in his interest to shit on Arsenal or vice versa because you don't know which team would be enough for your current team to agree.

As a player, so long as the bidding teams are all teams you want to play for, there is no value in stepping in. Just sit back and wait.

He is no Messi or Mbappe, he can't demand he wants just 1 team.

I skipped from about page 700 to 900 so not sure just how many crazy theories were put out there, but I’m still not buying that what she said had any truth to it whatsoever. I think we tested the water with what we felt was a very fair offer. It was knocked back and we weren’t willing to go higher. Sometimes things can be straightforward and I believe this instance to be one of those times.
Fact is, if it actually came out that what she said was true then anyone involved should be sacked asap.

Now that this saga is done. I’m hoping for some left field unknown signing to randomly come into the fray. Surely with all our vast scouting networks around the world we can find a monster of a player hidden deep tucked in the depths of South America etc..

You gotta remember not too long ago caiceido was playing for an Ecuadorean team 2 years ago and now he’s going to be sold for a minimum of £80M.

Also I’ve heard that the FA have relaxed permit rules meaning any player from around the world can be signed very easily. I’d much rather, we find gems before they explode and inevitably get sold on for 10x their value.

For this to happen we need Brighton's transfer team.

As I said mate, outside of WHU, Rice, Arse & City, none of us really know what happened apart from City saying we'd ended our interest, with no reason given.

Eni's speculation is as valid as anyone else's in my book... \0/

As impressive as their scouting network is, surely the city group network should be better and start to reap to reward of our worldwide scouts? So far it’s been duds like Kayky who’s been wheeled out between CfG clubs. Alvarez though was a great find so far. We need more Alvarez type transfers for sure.

City fuck Arsenal over = City led
City 'assist' Arteta = Arteta led

You've suggested both.

Pretty much obvious what happened as it is something we have done many times before. We have our own idea of what a player is worth to us and stick to that. We don't get dragged into auctions and pay more than we value a player at. When Arsenal's bid went beyond what we felt represented reasonable value, we withdrew.

Pretty standard procedure for us and nothing to do with Aluko's nonsense.
