Wish I had your faith in Phillips.

Thought he was an average player for Leeds and thought at the time that whoever suggested City to buy him last summer was high on spice.
I always used to think that Rice and Phillips between them were doing the job for England that Fernandinho and Rodri did on their own for us. I used to think which was the better between the two. Now, it would appear that Rice is the better but does that say much? Neither are fit to be on the same pitch as Rodri. Says it all. Mind you, they were playing for that wanker Waistcoat!

Tell that to Pep, he clearly doesn’t trust him. He’s likely to be behind Kovacic as a 6 as well. I think if Phillips stay he may miss on the England Euros squad as he won’t play enough.
You’re likely right based on what we’ve seen of him but let’s hope he picks up.

So we bid £90m for a midfielder and now decide we don’t need one??

It seems so. For me, we should add Wirtz/Szobo and allow them the time to develop. Otherwise, I don't know how can we replace the likes of KDB, Bernardo, etc., in the not-so-distant future. People say we have successfully replaced David Silva, Kompany, and many others, but remember, some of their replacements were with us while the "core" was still playing, like KDB or John Stones. These guys then took over from the aging players. That's why I wouldn't only look at outgoings, we need to carry on doing what we have been doing and think about our future, and I hope the club doesn't fix what's not broken here with their approach. We need to keep on doing that.

I think szoboszlai is that guy mate and pork you say , it gives him time to work with Pep, KDB etc

First preseason game is the 23rd, just give silva, Mahrez and Walker a cutoff date to bring the full offer or stfu. Done. First or 2nd week in July.

Right hear me out on this one- juventus want rid of pogba- city wanted him last summer and so did guardiola. As a stop gap for a year or so he’d be no older than a gundogan but offers the multi functional type player that guardiola likes while also being able to replace the goals/assists. Injury prone players have been sorted out by city medical team in the past also. I know it’s mad, but if they were keen last summer why not this summer? There is no denying under pep he could be phenomenal
In this scenario is Pogba paying us to play?

Ederson
Stones
Dias
Gvardiol
Rodri
Kovacic
De Bruyne
Bernardo Silva
Foden
Grealish
Haaland

Might we just go 3 at the back next season with Bernardo and Grealish working back and Kovacic dropping in alongside Rodri when required?

Sane or coman
Sane will not be back at City.

Even if Mahrez went I don’t think City go for a pacey winger, a wide man in the mould of what we have out wide now, but don’t see the pace winger thing at all.

It’s fairly clear from how City setup (and won a treble), we don’t play pacey wingers.

My biggest fear with Kalvin has been his lack of energy and pace. He’s been a plodder for us. If that is his limit then I agree with you, if he comes back with an extra bit of mobility, pace and drive then he could turn it around.

I didn’t see much of him at Leeds but he always seemed key to how they played. I’ve vague recollections of a great performance at Spurs (maybe 2-4 or similar) where he was excellent.

He was very good for England for a spell (usually with “that ****” Rice ;-) but we’ve seen very little from KP so far.

We need something from him if he stays. For me, working your bollocks off and getting around the park are basics, the majority of our squad do that as natural as breathing.

Like Jack saying he felt much more part of things this season, Kalvin needs to strive for that if he’s to stay.
