Because they're a horrible breed to be defeated by. Cheating, shit supporters, terrible losers and have a doctorate in sledging yet sulk at getting a bit back.

I was in Australia when they hammered us 5-0 in the 2013/14 Ashes. I remember being with the Barmy Army at the MCG and we were all loud and proud. Some Aussie took exception to the atmosphere and got up and shouted 'what are you all doing here????.... you're 3 nil down.... fuck off home!!!!'. Ermm..... because we support our side even if they aren't winning you stupid twat. Sums them up really.

Don’t we sing ‘you have had your day out now fuck off home’ when were comfortably beating a side. Not seeing the difference to be honest.

I agree though losing to Australia at cricket leaves a bad taste though. I cannot comment on other Aussie sports fans, as I have not really interacted with them, but some of their cricket fans are a pain.

Not sure if it has something to do with the pecking order of sports in Australia. I would say some English football fans are not reflective of people in England or sports fans in general, but without football over there possibly there undesirables follow the cricket instead.

Still I think in general Australians are pretty decent, just like everywhere else good and bad.

Never been to Oz, but I’m an avid cricket and rugby fan and I have to say I enjoy the verbals, it adds spice to it. Can’t stand any game where opponents are all nice to each other on the pitch, whether it’s cricket, rugby or football. As long as you can take the shit if you give it, then that’s fine with me, I used to love winding up opponents when I played at uni. Never, ever back down.

I’m actually looking forward more now to the 3rd Test, I hope the spite and spats continue, it’ll make it tastier!

I’ve always respected how Aussies play their sport; do anything to win, leave nothing out there, that’s how it should be. As an opponent you have to man up and give it back. No room for soft arses. However, I think it was a cowardly way to get Bairstow out. No matter what banter or abuse you dish out, never lose sight of the spirit of the game. If you have to win by cheating, you must be shit. The colonials are going to get a fucking beating now, England to win the series 3-2!

I've got some mates who are Aussies [Melbourne} . They are good lads but they do like stuffing us at cricket. As we do them. Plenty of banter and insults but always resolved peacefully and amusingly after a few beers . They are not happy with Carey actions and thinks he's a total dick ( same with Smith}. But do they do enjoy seeing us getting worked up and angry. It's fun. Looking forward to the banter at Old Trafford.

Pair of fucking charlatans, everything wrong with our country today
Neither of them are english either.
How the fuck Morgan got a job commentating is beyond me.
Peiterson is another got fuck all to say.Bring back Mikey and Bumble!.
Why the fuck are we listening to Ponting and Taylor as well pair of Aussie cunts.
On Bairstow he was out stupid yorkie.
Team for the next test should be

Space
Duckett
Root
Brook
Stokes
Bairstow
Foakes
Broad
Robinson
Ahmed
Wood
Shame Stone is injured.

That chant is humorous and is a joke. It's completely different. I'll sing it but I don't genuinely want all the away fans to 'fuck off home'. Away fans are integral to every sporting occasion. It's usually where most of the atmosphere comes from. This particular Australian clearly took exception at us being Down Under in general and out-singing their shite support. Clearly hoping that as we were being humbled on the pitch we'd be quiet in the stands.

Looking back now when Stokes got it under 3 figures maybe he should have started taking the runs on offer that were available. Broad was fairly set by this time and even if he had have got out Stokes still had another 3 batters left if he wanted to go big.

The headingley 2019 was done with the last wicket, we had plenty left compared to then!

Easy in hindsight but they (eventually) cut off his leg side scoring shots and got him frustrated.

Fair enough. But I think the England fans give plenty out over there.

I think the barmy army are a pretty quick-witted lot, so they probably got a rise out of this bloke.

We might not need a spinner at Headingley, but we will at O.T and the Oval, Moeen isn't going to bowl a side out on day 4 or 5. Also need genuine pace in the last 2 tests as well, as both are usually good to bat on, fuck knows who though as all the quicks are injured.

I think wood is fit but does breakdown pretty quickly

Pakistan were accused of ball tampering which they denied, the ball was changed. Darrell Hair had a lot of problems with Asian players over the years if you remember? He always seemed to court controversy with Asian teams and players. Doesn't excuse what they did but Australia cheat pretty much every series they are in. The cunts even invented sledging, which is a nice term for unacceptable verbal abuse.
If that were the only controversy involving Pakistan.
They make the Aussies look like amateurs.

Exactly. Test Cricket is not all about slogging sixes manoeuvring the ball around and keeping the scoreboard ticking over would have kept the pressure on the Aussies

One example? Always an exception to the rule. I’ll give you 10 Aussie cricket ones for every one you can give me in rugby. And I’m not a big rugby fan btw
Rugby union supporters are on the whole entitled cunts.

Not a massive cricket fans but is there a few parallels with how Pep reinvented football in England, with this guy coming along and shaking up cricket orthodoxy.

Not saying it will have the same degree of success, or is even the right course of action but there seems to be a blueprint of how they want the team to play and there going to stick with it.

Playing the risky shots throughout has parallels with playing out from the back in football. When it goes wrong it looks really bad, but if that way of playing has got you in a certain position, why then would you change it in the latter part of matches?

Its not a view I necessarily subscribe to but just second guessing the thought process of the decision-makers.

That's my point about being the best test team in cricket, they find a way to win and change in a flash,
England doesn't have any plans other than Bazball, if you are in trouble and winning looks a bit far away then take a chance and change it and sit in and duck and move take time out of the game and don't chase every ball,

Why do you have to pull every bouncer and chase every ball, A draw is also part of test cricket

A last comment on crowd banter re Aussies. Shane Warne used to get some right stick from the crowd at Old Trafford when playing for Australia , but on his last test appearance there he got a standing ovation. The cricket lovers know cheating and they know quality players.

Probably in the minority but I’m not really in the ‘spirit of the game’ camp when it comes to controversial moments that lead to a dismissal or goal etc

If it’s in the laws of the game it’s in the laws. That simple.
It was quick thinking from the Australian player and Bairstow shouldn’t have left his crease.

Likewise in football a player down injured - the other team should carry on regardless. It’s down to the officials to stop the game, not leave it to the moral judgement of the players.
