Good shout that but think Robinson is the long term Anderson replacement as in playing every game if fit

Not at the speed he was bowling in the first 2 tests, 80mph is not fast enough, Lords with the conditions and a bit of grass on the wicket the first morning he Bowed crap and slow,

Let's hope Wood can stay fit and can bowl at around 90mph with bounce, Woakes should have played at Lords and a spinner as well

Tongue did enough to stay in the team, Robinson should have been dropped
Same. Had a feeling that's the way they'd go however. Has had his share of injuries (standard for our pacemen) so maybe they are unsure whether he can back it up? Also there is the new ball to consider and maybe they are keeping him in reserve for when Wood breaks down!

Huge responsibility on Brook even though he is a huge talent. Would prefer to go with an opener type at three but we are struggling as it is.
Still not going with Foakes is a strange one for me.

Yeah his speed was down a bit but he has the height to get a bit more out of pitches

Agree apart from the spinner. We’ve not got a good one and Root is adequate. Shame Stokes can hardly bowl these days or we could have had a top class wicket keeper in who’s also handy with the bat

I think Rehan Ahmed could be world-class but England never like playing a leg spinner for some reason,
He took 5 wickets in Pakistan so must have something in him to play and take wickets over there.

England women have stopped their whitewash. Now time for the men to do the same.

Also good luck to Scotland tomorrow against the Netherlands who will qualify for the ODI World Cup if they win.

Kind of explains why they are managing the lads workload. Also suffered stress fractures in his back and left foot earlier in his career.

An outstanding debut season in 2017 saw Josh Tongue, then aged just 19, announce himself as one of the outstanding fast bowling prospects in English cricket. Six years later, he duly made his Test debut against Ireland at Lord's, after arriving in the squad as injury cover ahead of the Ashes, and impressing coach Brendon McCullum with his pace, bounce and attitude.

It hadn't been a simple route from A to B, however. One year earlier, Tongue had been midway through a 15-month lay-off that he feared might end his career before it had started. A nerve problem in his right shoulder, called thoracic outlet syndrome, required two surgeries and botox injections to rectify, and left him in a "really dark place". But a successful winter with England Lions in Sri Lanka placed him back on the radar, and paved the way for his call-up.

If Ned get 175 the target is 147 for Scotland to qualify, and for around every 25 more runs Ned get, Scotland can get one less and still win.

If Scotland make 175 Ned have to get it in 44.1 overs to qualify, and lose a ball to hit the target around every 25 runs the Scots score.

I can't see them messing up with that advantage, but it is a 50/50 game.

What if the England bowling attack smashes the Aussies in the 3rd test ? does jimmy Anderson come back into the team to play at OT
Great point (question).
Old Trafford is generally quick as well and with the time between tests it'll allow Wood to play in both.
