Arsenal have apparently left everyone in their wake, with their ruthless transfers… they’ve added at least 5 goals from Havertz for £65m, they’ve added some top class bants and celebrations from Rice for £105m and now Timber for £40m or whatever it is. We surely need to spend or the title is theirs.
Wow

Their huddles are gonna be next level next season

it will be a slow market for our outgoing players like Laporte, Cancelo. can see them still here when PL is going already and first we will see offers with loan + option same as Bayern did.

to make 80-90m income for those two is impossible. do lesser players change for higher fees? yes but doesnt really matter.

wouldnt mind if Saudis would come for them with some proper offers. imo thats the only way we see some decent income and even that wouldnt be 90m overall. fucking Chelsea needed to move out 3-4 deadwood players, all picked up by the Saudis. who the hell would have offered 32 yo Koulibaly his 300K salary in Europe and 20m on top for a fee.
they would have to loan him with them paying part of salary otherwise, makes a big difference...

Over £200m and any reports I’ve read, have been congratulatory on their willingness to capitalise on their nearly season and help them push on to reach the promised land…. Nothing about it being unfair, or killing the game etc! I’m guessing they aren’t done either, with Caceido or Lavia and whoever else to follow. Fair play to them, for getting transfers done early but they have spent huge sums of money in doing so and not just this window either. I don’t see Havertz, Rice and Timber making them much more of a threat, maybe just more capable to cope with a CL campaign. Tarquin c*nts!

yes, most of media reaction to Arsenal splashing 200m in about 3 weeks since window opened is like:
well done, they are back
finally they spending (they spent shitload last 3 years overall too)
much needed recruitment
exciting times
etc

all this with Emirates their shirt sponsor and their stadium called the Emirates, believe me that is not sportwashing

This is ace. I’m a city fan since the 70s and never even dreamed of the club we have become. Is it possible to double like a post?
I think your quoted appreciation is enough mate... :-)

I agree with every word you say. Watching full match replays of Pep's Barça, I couldn't believe how many things they did back then, that would have Baldy losing his shit & the last few strands of his hair today! :-)

This is when it dawned on me exactly how good we actually are. We're fuckin blessed mate & we'll only realise how blessed when as happens with all great teams, our period of domination ends.

HOWEVER, Pep keeps reinventing us & building new evolutionary iterations of the squad, & it's the way he's doing it which is so intriguing.

A BM poster today lamented the reported reduced £45m fee City apparently want for serial winner Bernardo, which in comparison to £65m for Mount & the £105m for Rice seems ridiculously cheap.

But if we step back & take a global view of things, City generally make cost effective player acquisitions & we sell for reasonable prices. Taking things as they are, how the fuck can anyone accuse City of ruining football because of our inflationary practices?

Our dominance hasn't come from a Galacticos policy, nor has it come from Coutinho like fees for players we've sold. We've been very responsible in our buying & selling, which makes our achievements all the more amazing!

I can't believe how well managed we are & how good we've currently got it mate... )(

Sergio Gomez. He doesn't want to leave, and he has been one of the best players at the U-21 European Championships. I hope we try him out on the wings. That's where he thrives for Spain.

Finally, I reckon Palmer and maybe even McAtee might go out on loan, although I would be in favor of keeping them around. I rate both highly.
Has Gomez been playing on the left or right wing?
I know he usually plays on the left for us but he used to play on the right before converting to left back.

Completely forgot, added him in.
Noticed that ;)

He looks quite the talent and even with the highs we experienced last season his goal in the Champions League was one of the best moments.

The main thing about Rico for me is that he’s the first real academy product that’s come through purely playing Pep football. If he’s the base standard and hopefully everyone following will be a hell of an upgrade!

I keep telling everyone to watch this kid. If he continues to progress at the rate he is, we've a potential Star on our hands!

The question is what's Rico's best position. He's excelled in CM as part of a double pivot & as a No 8, albeit he's a RB. He could be City's homegrown version of Philip Lahm...

Still leaves us short, and aging on the wing.
It seems apparent, that we don’t want wings… Pep has seen off Sane and Sterling et al and the future is Grealish and Bernardo, neither of which are wingers. He wants midfielders who, above all else, keep the ball. We are light, if Bernardo leaves, but I’m sure we’ll sign someone if that happens. It’s Grealish, Foden, Bernardo and Mahrez (plus Palmer, Borges and Bobb)

somebody give me some news at least on replacements for Maresca and Borrell.

I am thinking someone like Kolarov or Zaba. Iniesta maybe? What Pirlo doing these days, is he not into coaching? we have connection to him through New York City.
what about former legend Lampard, was that a smokescreen as he was mentioned few weeks back.

At this tournament, left-wing, every time.

If we lose Mahrez/Bernardo or especially if both, then we’ll definitely redress that imbalance.
Since they are both under contract until 2025 the only way we "lose" them is if we agree to. People take the "we won't keep anyone here that wants to leave" philosophy to an extreme. If we agree to let someone go under those type of circumstances it's because we have an alternative in mind. Anyone who thinks City will do anything to appease someone to the detriment of the club is in la la land. Gabby, Zinchenko, Sterling - Pep could give 2 fucks if they left. Their roster spots were taken by a collective massive upgrade of Haaland, Alvarez, and Akanji. I hate to break it to everyone but City planned on Gundo leaving all along. When he closed the season with an iconic run in they felt compelled to offer him something knowing their offer was miles off what Barca were offering in terms of wages and years. If we really wanted him to stay we would have made extending him a major priority at least a year ago. City aren't some pollyanna suckers looking to take unfavorable deals to "reward" players for past performance. WTF are some of you smoking? City are a ruthless, efficient machine of a club whose only interest is the advancement and well being of our club and as a supporter I am grateful that the club is so proficient in doing so. The woe is us stuff is beyond old and stale.

That's literally what Foden is expected to be, no...?
I guess we will add new players only if someone leaves. Having said that, Tolmie is expecting 2 more signings after Gvardiol, so who knows? Of course, I agree on Phil. I actually think he has the potential to be better than KDB in a few years.

I thought I saw somewhere that JuanMa Lillo was coming back to take one of those spots...
