Declan Rice

Don’t know how Arsenal are funding this spending as last year they were on uefas watch list for FFP.

They have a net spend over the 5 years or so of almost 700 million euros and no one is crying cheats!!
They have a very lucrative partnership with the paper and ink industry. Need to keep writing those unsubstantiated fabricated jealous emails to Uefa and the premier and to any other **** who will join the “get city” cabal.

It's hilarious and very tin pot they've not managed to get this done yet.

Tinpot for who?

West Ham spent 6 months running a farewell tour for Rice and everyone knows he won’t play for them again and they have no counter bidder to play off against.

Arsenal are only offering a deal on hire purchase paid over 30 years with add-ons that even Messi could never reach.

Why would Arsenal fold when they hold all the cards?

If Arsenal don't get this over the line at £105m, West Ham will sell him for less to someone like City. It's not all or nothing.

So how do Arsenal have all the cards?

We already know City bid up to £90m, if Arsenal don't get this wrapped up, there's other buyers out there and City's offer of £80+10 is not that far off what West Ham wanted and it'll be mostly up front, not spread over an insulting length of time.

That's not even accounting for the fact Arsenal's preseason has started and Declan Rice isn't there. Which is actively hurting their preparation for the season.

While I agree with what your saying his preference was for Arsenal we won’t be going back in for him if the chance arose ..

Of course we would. This whole "we never go back for a player" nonsense should have died the day Laporte walked in the door.
That’s correct, but we have moved on from then and Laporte had been and was a number 1 target at the time,I don’t see that with rice still find it strange we were in for him but there you go..

Because the framework is already done - they’re just having a standoff now about the payment schedule.

Arsenal won’t be bothered at the moment as Rice will still be on holiday like half the City squad, and even if he missed a week, he’s an England international with 100+ PL appearances, it won’t harm their season.

And honestly even if they walked away, it wouldn’t be any more ‘tinpot’ than City were walking away from say Sanchez or Van Dijk when the deal became dumb to do, it would just look silly on West Ham if they had to sell him to Chelsea for example for less than Arsenal offered.

Correct and to get West Ham to say yes to the sale Arsenal agreed to pay it over 2 years! It’s weird why it’s isn’t done yet..

Sorry but it's not similar at all.

One is saying "No we dont' think a player is worth that much, we're out".

The other is losing out on a player because you can't actually afford to pay the amount you've promised verbally.

And West Ham aren't going to look stupid for taking £95m over 2 years vs £105m over whatever mortgage length period Arsenal seem to be envisioning.

Or maybe to us for what we have offered?
